10 Comments on The Hunger Games and Real Estate
Carra, you really put a lot of thought into this movie. Thanks for your breakdown. Very thought provoking.
I am planning on seeing it.....just waiting for the excitement and long lines to die down. There has never been a movie that I have wanted to see where I was going to stand in long lines and hope I get a good seat when I finally got in the theater. My husband & I enjoy going to the movies several weeks after release when we have the pick of the theater. I haven't read the books either....yet. When I do that I am usually disappointed in the movie.
I too am not a fan of all of the reality shows out there. There are so many now that really are teaching the wrong concepts to our kids. No wonder we have kids coming out of college thinking they should make 6 figures and work 40 hours or less a week with weekends off. We are living in a crazy time.
Paula ~ The movie is a pleasant surprise if you are looking for more than just entertaiment... Kids killing kids would not be entertaiment to me but the underlying messages make a statement. I re-did this post because Anna Banana and Margaret Rome told me aobut Roger's contest in doing a movie review and tying it to real estate... so that is what I did. Thank you for taking the time to read it and comment... Look forward to hearing what you think after you see it. It will be a movie that people will talk about for a very long time I think.. and then the sequels. Have a beautiful Sunday.
Thanks so much for your participation and entry to
“Be The ‘Star’ Of Your Own Movie”
Unique take!!!
Roger ~ You are welcome.. I am here because of Anna Banana and Margaret Rome... Lots of great entries... I probably took the review part too serious.. but it's what I do so hope everyone enjoys it and goes to see the movie. Did you read the book or go to the movie yet?
Unique take!!!
Carra- I wasn't sure about seeing The Hunger Games but I might after reading your post. I'm not a big fan of "reality" shows because it blurs the line of what really is reality.
@Laura ~ Sure is...Did you see it and what did you think?
@Kathy ~ You should definatly go see it. Then come back and tell us what you think!
Carra, I have two young adults, 19 and 18, who both read the series. I went to the movie not having read the books but the movie has inspired me to do so. As a result my husband has already read the first two books. Like you, I didn't like the thought of children killing each other and was surprised at the number of people who brought their young kids to the movie. I hope these parents do just as you suggested and take the time to talk to their kids about the underlying these of the movie. This was an excellent review on the movie and how you took the lessons learned to heart.
Tammie ~ Thank you for your thoughtful response to the post. My original post went into other things then Margaret Rome suggested I do something for this AR event... so this is what I came up with.. there are so many lessons and I am still discussing them with my graphic designer who lives in Florida. She went with Nations Charity board of directors at my suggestion and they are spinning with ideas to help kids learn life lessons from this movie and the books. Again, thank you for the time to comment, it means a lot.
