Housing Woes

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Coastal Area Partners

So many homes, so few buyers. It seems to be an ongoing event. I see lots of homes become contingent or even go under contract, only to later expire or be withdrawn. I can't imagine being a homeowner trying to sell their home before they are foreclosed on. Especially since Christmas is just a few days away and it's winter.

I was talking to a general contractor today. He was in on the construction of our home. He is having a tough time as well. There's not much building going on lately, so not much need for him. I bet there are a lot of construction workers feeling the crunch. What a time to be not making money.

I never really sat back and thought about just how many people are praying for work, for their house to sell, or for the bank not to foreclose. Hopefully things will pick up soon. If we all wish hard enough, may be our Christmas wish will come true!

We better not wish and instead better do something to make it happen.  My company just came out with a new version of its guaranteed sellers program where we guarantee that if their home doesn't sell within 150 days, then we BUY IT!  It's a win win for everyone and an EXCELLENT MARKETING TOOL RIGHT NOW!

The snowball effect of the housing market plays a major role in our economy.  When the housing market is advancing everyone feels good and spends freely.  When real estate stalls everyone slows to a crawl.  We are all looking forward to a better New Year!!!!

I agree with you Michael.....I've been curious about that program. So your company actually buys it?

Definitely Dan!

In the past, I have seen a lot of new home builders leaning towards home improvements in this type of market.
