Easter Blessings to you and yours Cal. My listing was within a mile's radius and had no damage. Selfishly I am grateful because the owner was spared; yet I recognize I have so much more to learn about people and houses too. In my opinion we sustain more damage to ourselves if we don't do more to help others in time of need. Mother Nature leaves TRAILS OF OPPORTUNITIES!
Easter blessings to you and yours Larry & Sheila. Happiness begins and ends with family, doesn't it? Fences make good neighbors, but sometimes we have to tear down the fence and let others in.
Many Easter Blessings to you and yours James. You've projected powerful words of wisdom. We go to schoool and we learn the basics - FAMILY teaches us what really counts. Here's the photo of the Elementary School where the children of this community learn the basic principals. Then they go back home to their families. Like little children, holidays reminds us to go back home. When I wrapped up my walking tour and interviewing the residents and volunteers I was blown away!
Many blessings to John & Debb,
No matter what happens we should never rob ourselves of happiness. These people in this community send out messages that ring loud and clear. Selfishness causes occupational hazzards.
Goodness, I came over to wish you a wonderful Easter and see this very poignant post about the people of Foley, Texas. You really captured it Patricia. Those who commented before me have said it so well, I can only concur. And, I especially love your comment X marks the spot - no more Greed.
Blessings to you today and always. D
Easter blessings to you and yours Fernando,
It's also a testimonial that the only thing worse than a tornado or the destruction caused by Mother Nature is the destruction that's self-inflicted. Suffering is a way of life, but it doesn't have to go on forever... WE ARE CREATED TO HELP ONE ANOTHER.
Easter blessings to you and yours Toni. Isn't the human spirit awesome when attitude is positive! Even an EF-3 could not dampen their spirits. Why on earth would we allow ourselves to have a negative attitude on anything else that doesn't go OUR way. I guess this REALTOR'S listing will be put on hold longer than she thought!
Many blessings to you Debb and to your family too. We get so wrapped up in our daily routines then something like this stops us in our tracks. I had no intentions of writing this blog post, actually, I didn't even see it coming. I was just out and about doing my business, showing properties in Forney yesterday when I stumbled upon this subdivision. I knew it was close to my listing, but I didn't realize how close it really was. Time to take my head out of the sand Notice how the flowers from this garden weren't even touched!!!
Thanks heaven there were no fatalities! I cannot even begin to imagine what these people are going through!
Happy Easter and blessings to you Barbara-Jo,
I think they are learning to be happy with what they have left and that's family. Possesions don't provide emotional support or comfort the same way people do. I think the greatest form of maturity comes from the realization that love begins and ends with family. Friends and volunteers support us, a house is a dwelling, but family is our foundation.
Patricia - Surviving such a harrowing experience certainly deepens our appreciation and understanding of what really matters--and it's not the stuff.
Thanks, Patricia, for sharing your photographs. I is amazing that there were no deaths. Images like this make all of us wonder how we would react if our homes were instantly destroyed.
All are still alive and that makes it an Easter with much joy.
Hi Patricia, Seeing this devastation up close and meeting with those who were hit hard by these storms must give you a different perspective on the power of nature. It is amazing that no one was killed. The warning systems must be helping even if it is a few more minutes to take cover. Thank you for sharing the words of inspiration you heard. And as many of them stated they are so thankful to have their loved ones unharmed.
May you have a wonderful Easter holiday.
Take care,
Gloria
Patricia ....The devastation is amazing ....our prayers are always with those who go through things like this! I hope you and your family have a very Happy Easter!
Hi Patricia. No one likes to hear or see devastation like what happened to homes in Forney, TX, but I am glad to hear that the school house was spared. I pray that your community will pull through this crises, and be able to restore their homes soon. Wishing you and your Family a Blessed and Happy Easter.
Patricia, very say indeed, but a great miracle that no one was hurt. Thanks be to God!
Patricia, when these tornado warnings went off, I thought about my blogger friends and past clients that live near Dallas, and PRAYING no one would be hurt. Homes can be replaced, human life cannot.
This post is FEATURE WORTHY. What a great job you did reporting the aftermath. My ex-husband posted (on facebook) a photo of the tornado that he took with his cell phone at his daughter's school. VERY scary. Thankfully everyone is okay. The other STUFF can be replaced! God is GREAT!
Great photos Patricia. As I drove the area on last Thursday, it made me just realize how Blessed we all were that no one was seriously injured or killed.
