If You Didn't Blog About Easter Egg Hunts, You Missed A Basket Of Consumer Views!
You never know what you'll find when you check out your website stats! We've got Google Analytics tied to our two Active Rain Outside Blogs. Periodically we'll take a look through what is bringing the consumers to our blogs. If you follow us regularly, you know we do quite a few Localism posts, and Easter events were no exception. There was the Easter Egg Hunt at Armco Park, an event at Cincinnati Zoo, the Lebanon Mason & Monroe Railroad had the Easter Bunny Express and we did a summary post listing & linking to those events and some of the other major area Easter events.
So what was the net outcome of those posts? About 20% of our recent pageviews were matches to our Easter posts. We know the numbers are probably pretty puny compared to some of you blogging in high population density areas, but for us, these posts drove a noticeable increase in traffic.
Here's our top few keyword matches for the last 30 days:
Other than the Cirque du Soleil event Dralion (which also drew good attention up and down the keyword list), our top hitters were all back to the Easter event posts. We provided the information, the consumers found it. Now did we get any come sell my house calls? No, but the purpose of our Localism posts is more to get the consumers to find us, associate us with our marketing area and have some Top of Mind when they are ready to discuss real estate.
So based on the results, Easter events and similar will continue to be a regular part of our blogging agenda.
Keep on Blogging,
Liz and Bill aka BLiz
P.S. Happy Easter everyone!
