So Many Agents are chanting...."its just not fun anymore!"

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Hubbell BriarWood

I hear this over and over again every week.  And personally I don't get it.  Why is not fun anymore?  Because we have to think outside the box, prospect, write a business plan, change??  Didn't everyone have to do that when they first entered into Real Estate?  Of course they did.  Was your first day, your first week, or even your first year all that FUN?  Wasn't if full of work, planning and learning. Maybe these people hit an easy road, business was flowing their way, no need to plan, prospect, change anymore.  The gravy train  arrived and was going to be there forever.

The economy goes up and it comes down.  It never stays put in one place forever.  Thank God!

I go to work excited.  Hopeful.  Planning.  Learning.  And I get tired of hearing other agents talking about how this career is just not fun anymore.  I guess if this was not fun for me, I would get out.  But honestly...I love what I do.  These times just call for change.  And I am up for that.

You go Renee, nothing ever stays the same!!!  If you don't have fun with what you do others will see it.

Renee-

You are right- did everyone expect the good times to just go on forever-- and so that is why so many people are leaving the biz and will look for an easier path to success and riches.

Ans so the pendulum swings and there will come great opportunity from this downdraft and i want to be one who captures it on the next upswing. Timing is everything -- wait a minute-- i thought location was everything-- ah, the challenges continue.

Write a business plan and prospecting is inside the box. Screaming hot markets, people with bad credit and no jobs buying hosues, that is outside the box.

PS if you are leaving the industry, do you have any lockboxes you want to sell?

Debbie ~  You are right....Others can see and feel it.  And these folks pass on the message of doom and gloom within the office and to the community, which is talked about too much.

Rob ~ A business plan today does take thinking out side the box for many.  With technology moving forward like it is, that can be a huge stretch for some.
