It’s the Delray Affair 2012... Celebrating It’s 50th Anniversary!

Mark your calendars because you won’t want to miss the Annual Delray Affair.. the most popular Arts and Crafts festival in Palm Beach County. This grand affair stretches from west of Swinton Avenue east to the Intracoastal and closes Atlantic Avenue for the three days of the event.

In 1952 the Delray Affair began as the Gladiola Festival and Fair as a way of highlighting our areas many varieties of flowers. Over the years, the “flower" festival has transformed into the arts and crafts show that it is today, attracting over 800 artists and exhibitors from around the country.

You can find all varieties of paintings, pottery, crafts, homemade goods, gifts, jewelry,acrylics,apparel and much more. Old School Square Stage will have entertainment throughout the weekend. And you can find food from around the area and local restaurants.

Dorie- I've been going for years and love it.

BarbaraT- you can still see people walking around with their bunch of gladiolas that they purchase. I look forward to this every year and love going.

Chris- there will be orchids, fresh fruit, and all sorts of plants as well as the art.

Barbara- come on down. It's not too far.

Kathy- me too! The good thing is Delray has some events planned in the summer even though the snow birds have flown north.

Peg- not sure how far the drive would be but hop on a plane.

John- this thing is huge! I wish everyone could see it.

BARFF- you would love it. Just people watching is fun. There is some very nice artwork as well.

It is amazing what a gladiola festival can turn into over time and with community spirit. I bet in 1952 very few people saw this coming 50 years later. It certainly says volumes about your community.

Emily- I love that there is such a rich history here even though this area is relatively young compared to New York, for example.

Gabe- Tell her not to worry.. in fact you would get big points from her for taking her to the Delray Affair.
