The The Met: Live in HD series returns to the Greenbrier Valley Theatre for the final installment of the season with Verdi’s La Traviata at 12:55 p.m. on April 14.
French soprano Natalie Dessay will star as Violetta. The tragedy also stars Mathew Polenzani as Alfredo and Dmitri Hvorostovsky as Germont. Fabio Luisi will again take podium.
As with every Met presentation at GVT, audience members are invited to listen to guest speakers and enjoy an optional lunch catered by Stella’s restaurant prior to the performance.
The April 14 presentation will feature WVU College of Creative Arts Dean Paul Kreider at 12 p.m.
Because April 14 is also the date of the Lewisburg Chocolate Festival, GVT, will offer reserved parking to those attending La Traviata.
The Met: Live in HD is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series, which affords audiences the opportunity to experience different productions live from the famed Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
