Looking for something to do in or around Trumbull CT with the kids that is both fun and educational? The Trumbull Nature and Arts Center, 7115 Main Street, Trumbull CT is offering a variety of spring programs to engage, teach, and entertain your kids.
Grow Your Own Frog
Discover the intriguing world of frogs and get to know some of Trumbull’s local specimens up close and personal. Participants will create a frog habitat they can take home where they can raise frog eggs and experience their remarkable metamorphosis. Frogs must be returned to their natural habitat upon maturity.
Tuesday, April 10, or Thursday April 12; 4-5:30 p.m.

Exploring the Parks through Geocaching
Get to know Trumbull parks and learn about geocaching. If you’re familiar with the process, you can download the coordinates from the website and venture on your own.
Geocaching is a treasure hunting adventure where participants worldwide hide and find “caches” using hand held GPS units.

Hands-on learning programs series for young nature enthusiasts or scouts. Sign up for as many as you want, or sign up for all programs and receive a discount.

Children’s ‘Valley’ Walk-About
Join Trumbull Nature and Arts Center for a fun nature hike through the valley. Learn about local wildlife and plants of the valley. Children will use their five senses to explore nature.
April 29, 1-3 p.m. Free.
Recommended for families with children 2 to 8-years old.
Meet at Helen Plumb building parking.
Little Green Thumb Ambassadors
Children can learn the joy of ‘growing their own food’ with Richard Moore from Moorefield Herb Farm. Seed and plants donated by Moorefield Herb Farm.
Participants will grow an herb and vegetable garden at the Trumbull Community Gardens.
May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, June 5 Tuesdays 4-5 p.m.
Children ages 4-6, along with a parent
Cost: $75 for 6 weeks
