For wine lovers everywhere, the Santa Barbara County Vintners Association is presenting their 30th Annual Wine Festival on April 20th through the 23rd.  We have a wonderful friend from Napa who never misses this event.  She is a   wine connoisseur and has the distinction of having earned the prestigious silver tasting cup of a Chevalier de Tastevins. In simple terms, she knows her wines.

The highlight of the weekend is on Saturday, April 21st, when every one of the 100+ wineries gather on the outskirts of Los Olivos from 1-4PM to present their wines.  Local food eateries as well as catering companies will be treating the paricipants with their gourmet treats, and the vintners will be pouring and answering questions.  Our Santa Barbara County wineries produce some of the best Pinot Noirs in the United States.

If you are a wine afficianado, this is an event you will no doubt enjoy.  Perhaps, we will see you there!

To Your Health, Cheers, Ron & Alexandra

I really love wine.... the most expensive kind. Well mostly the expensive kind. There are some that are pretty great that aren't. But what I wanted to say is that Texas has some pretty great wineries too.

Mel,

We are looking forward to it. There is so much that goes into wine making, it is an eye opener -every time  we find out what we don't know, and how much more there is to learn.

Rebecca,

I have not had the pleasure of tasting Virginia wines, although rumor has it that they are very good.  Another thing to add to my to do list.

Sussie,

This economic climate has brought some marvelous wines to an affordable level, especially among the Italian and French varieties.  Even our California wines have come down in prices.  So in many cases now the high prices are not worth it, and some of the wineries are realizing this, good for us.

Roy,

I would have lot to meet you and your lovely wife.  It would have be a treat, no doubts in my mind about that.  Yes, we will have our camera clicking away.

Toni,

Thanks, and i will definitely have my camera with me, and be clicking away.

Gordon,

Ours also.  Our Santa Ynez wines are getting great press on the pinot noirs, we have the idea climate for it.
