Obama Camp is calling Arizona Democrats

My wife got a real call from the Obama camp today, and she stated that the person was not a recording. Arizona in the last few elections has really become a swing state.

In the Past, our State was always considered a Republican state, however in the last 20 years, politics here has changed a lot. I think its due to all the folks from California moving here, but I might be wrong.

My wife decided to change from an Independent 5 years ago to Democrat. I always joke that my wife has a tendency to negate my vote, but hey its her choice.

Now that the political climate is heating up, I just have one goal in mind and that is NOT to see Hillary win in 2008. So I was glad to hear that Barack Obama is working hard in Arizona. I think he is the better candidate anyhow.

Here is a plan to avoid the negation of your vote.

Order an absentee ballot for yourself. Then surprise your wife with a vacation outside the State. Then, act disappointed that "you" didn't get to vote.

I bet you guys have some interesting political discussions. Maybe you can go on Meet The Press.

Gary, this is truly one of the most interesting and scary elections in years!!! I wonder what the conversations will be like next November!!

I remember when Bill got elected, my boss at the time walked down the hall and told us to watch our wallets, the economy was going into the tank.

In hind-site that didn't happen, at least Hillary has experience - that's more than you can say for the rest of the field at this juncture!!

Kate - what experience does Hilary have? She has never run anything and now we are going to consider allowing her to run our nation? I don't think we have time for any "learning on the job" stuff. And the country gets it! It almost NEVER elects a senator. Governors have a much better record. I'm really starting to swing to Mit.

You know Simon, I didn't mean to start a political debate. I'm a registered Republican but if there were a Centrist Party that's where I'd belong. We are in such a challenging place, both economically and in respect to foreign policy. Whether she has run anything or not, neither has Obama. Hillary at least was witness to the goings on in the whitehouse. That counts for me. Frankly, (and this will start a political debate but it's how I feel) having someone whose "mentor" is your pillow talk partner counts for me.

She comes with the wisdom of being witness to things and with the ability to "bounce" ideas off of someone with real "I lived it" experience. That's a rare opportunity for this country and I think a positive one.

I guess Obama is too young and too inexperienced and I just don't understand the bru-ha-ha that surrounds him. To me it means that he's a master of the media and that scares me more than Hillary.

Oh politics is fun Kate!! But it does have a very serious side too. I think if the choice was Hilary or Barack, I would go with Barack because I know what I am getting with him. He is very honest. He tells it as he sees it. his policies stink and he's told us what they are. Unfortunately we have no clue what we are getting with Hilary. She will quite literally say anything for a vote and that scares me. I'm also not sure how much pillow talk there actually was or how far away from the White House she will send Bill - I suspect VERY far to avoid the questions of "who is running the country?" I'm NOT registered with either party but I do see things from a conservative viewpoint. Mit for me is the only Presidential candidate we have running right now - and he's run companies, the Olympics and a State. He's made a success of all of them.

Yes Simon, Politics are fun. I can't put my finger on it but I would absolutely not vote for Obama. I would choose Hillary before Obama. Idealism doesn't fare well in the White House. Haven't focused on Mit, but I guess the CA primaries have been moved up to February so I'll have choose soon!

Gary, I am with you all the way! As for me I am a Mit guy all the way! Hey, I really think you should follow Bill's advice. We will need all the votes we can get.
