i belive there is a lot of value in staging prior to putting a property on the market. Quality staging shortens market time and increases sales prices.
But, but, but. . . .
She turned a huge wonderful walk-in-closet into a office/den.
Where am I going to put all of my shoes?????
Jeff- this is what I tell my clients... staging will help your property get appointments when they see the photos on the MLS. It will help you compete. Price and location definitely are keys.
Lenn- I staged an REO 2mil+ property... the closet was huge. The Realtor and I couldn't figure out what the room was (everything in it had been removed) until we realized there was no closet. This was about as big as my first apartment! I never pictured you as a shoes hound!
Absolutely there is value in staging a property! Just look at those before and after photos. Huge difference.
That home sure does look better with staging and I do think there is value..problem is, is that a lot of the time staging can cost a ton of money :)! Great reblog though and great job done by Laura :)!
This is a great reblog that I would have otherwise missed. thanks
I can't tell you how many homes I've seen buyers reject because the master didn't have adequate closet space.
Builders need to pay attention to what buyers say.
Jennifer- I agree... I love Before and After pics to show the difference.
Brenda- you know what... Staging really doesn't have to cost that much! My consultation is under $200 and it usually costs the seller sweat equity, storage boxes and cleaning products. Most stagers will do their best to use what's already in the home if it's occupied. And, you're right.. I loved what Laura did.
Barbara-Jo- that's what I love about reblogging.
Lenn- I agree..... why don't they just listen to you! What about the 55+ communities. I did research for my husband when he was going to build them. You've got to give the person who's paying the mortgage some perks... big master closet, spa master bath, gourmet kitchen!
Kathy, I think you did a wonderful job staging that home - the pictures tell the tale. In some cases the rooms actually look larger than they did when empty!
It really is amazing to me to see these before and after photos. I just don't have those talents. I have a bathroom that is so bland and I need ideas!!
Kathy
The photo's speak for themselves, professional staging sells homes.
Good luck and success.

Karen- wish I could take credit for it but it's the work of fellow Stager, Laura Baker.
Cindy- Oh.. bathrooms are so much fun! Got to the Stagers Before and After group and there are ideas there.
Lou- thanks, and yes it works.
Valerie- I think she did a great job with this post.
