Well - 99.5% of the time that is ... even during the holiday's I am almost always available and my kids & spouse fully understand. We believe in quality vs. quantity and the 5% that I am unavailable is when I'm on a date with one of my "loves". I have three kids & the love of my life and they are 1 of my #1 priorities.

Tomorrow (Saturday Dec 22) is a date for my husband and I - so when I was asked today if I'd be able to show on Saturday I smiled and said that every 6 months my husband requires some hand-holding, a yummy meal at Red Lobster and an uninterupted movie at the local cinema. As usual - my clients smiled and we set a time for Sunday. Between you and me - I'm just as needy for some hand holding when we get to see eachother a maximum of an hour per day (normally; sometimes less) and no amount of money in the world would make me cancel our date! I also schedule monthly dates with each of my children ... just mom & child out for a good movie a meal and some undivided attention.

Marriage & Family HAVE to be a priority and it CAN be worked into our 24/7 careers - but you MUST make it happen! I always say that I have 2 #1 Priorities ... my family and my career - both benefit because of the other and both deserve the same respect and attention. At times it may seem very hard to be good at both but if you are honest when something tries to interferre with the other; most of the time each side will understand. Even the scroogiest client can understand that children grow up too quickly and a tuned in parent is a must!
