Reputation:  Ask for testimonials, references and/or recommendations.  Make sure your getting experience and knowledge with your service not just an opinion.  

Ask:  Get the proposals in writing and make sure the labor and installation are included.  They shouldn't mind spelling it out for you.  And get at least 3 bids for comparison.  

Preview:  Look at a current listing by the stager.  Most homebuyers don't want to spend a lot to get the home market ready but keep in mind, the goal is to make the home look it's best.  The less expensive route isn't always best.
