14 Comments on Do You Know What A "Red Flag" Warning Means In Woodbridge VA?
Pretty scary stuff Cindy. Good thing the fire dept was able to get a quick jump on the fire.
Cindy that is scary. I saw something like tat once in Italy, however the farmers usually start it so they can get new fresh green grasses in their properties for cattle to feed on.
Wow ... that takes on a whole new meaning of a red flag. Here it means the ocean is too rough, keep your boat in the harbor. We have the same problem here with cigarettes being tossed from cars ... drives me nuts!
Oh yeah we know what the red flag means and we're under the gun here right now! Winds are howling at 60mph plus for the next 6 days or so. All firefighters are on alert and so is the public!
Wow! I didn't realize what red flag means. This looks as bad as our tornadoes.
Wow, that looks scary. I will now pay attemtion to the red flag warnings!
Jim-our neighborhood is within a few miles of a local fire station so they did get her quickly.
Ellen-there are controlled burns and then there are the ones like this that could be avoided.
Cynthia-in this case it was someone out walking their dog. Everyone needs to pay attention to the weather conditions whether on land or on sea.
John-hope Albuquerque and the surrounding areas stay unscathed during your red flag days.
Kay-this isn't mother nature gone wild, it's caused by one careless person and can be controlled. What you have experienced with Tornado's is far worse.
Markita-it's a good lesson for anyone who thinks the warnings are just hot air.
Cindy-we have had the craziest seasons lately. Such a mild winter was delightful on one hand, but has left us with these same conditions I don't remember ever seeing before. It's a real service to write about this, glad the damage was mitigated.
Marie-the ground in my garden is like a rock and I'm worried about how the farmers this year are going to cope with the lack of ground water.
