I have a few times. Once I bought a camp trailer that would sleep up to 5. We were a family of 5. After the first weekend it was back on the market. It was tight for 5 and I had growing kids.

Last year I bought a new desktop computer and a mini laptop for traveling. I decided to go with the XP system as I wasn't ready to learn Windows 7. I had to hurry with the purchase as no more XP's would be produced. Availability was, inventory at hand. I have been fine with my purchase but now question, Why did I buy backwards?? What have you done? Your thoughts?

Rob - I once stocked up a perfume they were discontinuing.  At the time it was the smart thing to do and to my knowledge they've never re-introduced it.  Fast forward a few years, perfume, like many natural products only has a limited shelf life and the smell has turned to something I don't recognize.  : (  It'll be available at my next yard sale!

Sometimes it is best to move forward and learn new systems. Mainly because if things go wrong older systems aren't supported anymore.

I agree that buying backwards was probably foolish, but I don't blame you. Had I found an XP when I bought my new computer last summer I probably would have grabbed it. Learning Windows 7 has been a trial.
