In East Bethel, Minnesota on the north side of Highway 65 sits this tall carved black bear. It is a beautiful carving and one I am proud to add to my series of Uniquely Minnesota Artful Distractions!

Hi Teri, I love all these wooden carved bears and I remember a couple years ago you had several of these in your posts. I saw my first ones in Truckee on the way over to Reno Nevada. They are really enjoyable to see.

In Southern California we had a black bear that was roaming the suberbs a few days back. He was on a walkway doing his thing, when a guy who was busy texting while out for his walk. When he came face to face with the bear, there was this hilarious startled reaction caught on tape.
