OK, time to fess up.  How many of you have posted your high school picture to active rain?  I'll be the first.  My picture is from 2001 but I look the same.  Yes the hair is a little grayer now and I've gained a few pounds.  But I look the same :)  If you met me, you would recognized me.  If I met you, would I recognize you from your picture?

A photo a few years old is okay.  It when you don't even resemble yourself that it's not good.

Its really hard to mess up my picturePicture of Real Estate Agent: Don Davies, GRI (Don Davies Real Estate/REALSEARCH).

In my case, it would be better that I don't scare everybody away.

What I really think is hilarious is the "glamour" shots some of these people have taken. Their egos are, in many cases, just as flawed as the true image of them would be.

I recently saw one member here that had strained her neck so far to give the appearance of being cute, that her neck looked like a turtle's.

The main idea of a picture is to present yourself as an attractive, pleasant person to look at and do business with, not some phony.

Your smile, Matt, says you would be a good person to work with and its genuine.

Matt - I make a point to get a new photo every year. I just had a new one taken on Tuesday. I like to update my photos and keep my marketing fresh. As far as my ActiveRain photo, I like to have a little more fun, which is why I went for the hat and sunglasses at a ballgame.

Mine is from last September, so just over a year.  When it's two years old, maybe I'll do a new one, since I stupidly paid alot for these.

Mine is 4 or 5 years old, so I should get a new one.  You would recognize me from the photo.

A stroll through our local real estate magazine will expose you to several photo's taken a decade or two ago. I met a Realtor once and did not recognize him. I knew his photo well but it had been taken so long ago that it did not look like him. I would bet that there are a few of those amoung the 62,000 members here! BTW, my picture is current.  = )

Our photo is a few years old, but we both look the same, and I really like the picture :)

We have several here, too, that really need new shots.  They hand you their business card, you look at it and think, "Is this the same person?"  Not the impression I want to have, so we'll definitely update in the near future.
