Wordless Wednesday - Smooth Sailing On The Columbia River

The Columbia River makes for a gorgeous sail on an early spring afternoon. This photo was taken looking towards Hood River from the Washington side of the river. Our river offers such a wide variety of recreational opportunities, even when the water's still icy cold.

Gretchen- This undoubtedly would be an incredible place to go sailing. I'll enjoy the pic but if you don't mind, I'll keep from showing it to my husband. We lived on a sailboat for two years. I think it would make him cry in envy!

I know we have lots of sailing on the Columbia, but to be honest when I think of the Columbia all I ever really have seen in the last couple years is wind surfers.

Thanks for all the compliments, everyone! At this point in the Columbia River Gorge, the mountains rise pretty steeply on both sides of the river, giving an incredible vantage point to take photos. I realize I forgot to mention that Mel took this one and did a great job.
