An open letter to the Eco All Star group : Plan 2008?

By
Real Estate Agent with Rocky Mountain Realty #EA40039680

Since the success of the Eco All Stars group and the latest contest I've been thinking about what else we can do in 2008. We had great fun planning our dream houses with 5 elements and unlimited funds. (Wouldn't it be awesome if we could go out and build them now?)

I'd like to suggest to the Eco All Star group that we start thinking of some actionable things we can start doing within our own communities. After all we aren't writing in a vacuum. The power of our words could and should work toward reality. OK, I know you are working on your business. This project would work in tandem to your business and hopefully compliment it. But what if together we could make an actionable plan and support each other in facilitating it? I'm not sure what I'm talking about exactly.

I'm thinking of the Eco All Stars as a huge team (company) with a lot of power. Our CEO is janeAnne (I'll be Mrs. Kravitz to noisy neighbor.) With all the connections, power and support we have we could actually, physically start a country wide or local project and make a difference.

I'm taking a vacation between Christmas and New Years. I'm going to be thinking about all of this. But if you have ideas I'd love it if you leave a comment below.

Ideas:

1) Eco All Stars networking groups around the country ( something like www.greendrinks.org )

Great things to think about Dena.  Enjoy your vacation.  I too am on holiday till after Jan. 1.  My plans for my big trip to CO and UT are on hold as my husband has to make a quick trip to Norway during his vacation time.  But I will make that trip as soon as I can.  Merry Christmas!

Hey Dena,  I was thinking this morning about something..

What do you think about this?   I would like to do a monthly newsletter/farming cards that are Green related.  What about partnering with a different company every month i.e. window company, energy audits, etc. to send out a card with some information about what they do...and at the end of it saying "wanting to sell instead?  call me. "

This way you could get the other company to pay 1/2 or ALL of the mailings and educate your farm or sphere at the same time?  As long as it is not a mortgage or title company it should not violate P53 or anything.  ???

Hi all, I just popped in for a minute. I'm in Arkansas with family at the moment.

I think you took my idea the right direction Stephanie. I love blogging, it's good for business. What  I was thinking about was taking our ideas off the internet and putting them into play in real life. I like your idea! Replace your windows with E-Star windows or move! Or some such thing. :)

Dena we have a lot of talent here in the eco- all stars group.  I am still learning about all of these idea and I hope to see some of these ideas implemented in New Hampshire.  I know this state is a little behind, but I think we can learn from others.  Have a great vacation and happy new year.

Great Leadership here Dena, By the way I see you are from Pueblo, I know the area well, I love Pueblo, CO. In fact, I met a few realtors on my last visit sitting in the Big Box Book Store outside of town there in the coffee shop. We discussed all the happenings of the city, including the downtown river walk area, revitalization and growth in West Pueblo. Also, we had a discourse on water issues such as the Arkansas River, drought challenge and schools. All things that they were overcoming thanks to zeriscapes, community involvement and a strong group of leaders who were making it happen there.

Well, Malibu is doing fine, great weather today. I think I will walk down the street to Starbucks now and maybe I will get back online from there? I cannot wait until I get back to Pueblo and visit again - Lance

Oh, by the way, I have been promoting your city a bit on the Internet:

Dena and Everyone~

I like the idea of sending articles (posts) we write to local print media.

I also like the idea that of providing a Green Resource Directory to which our clients can refer...we have already started this project and I'd like to see it expand with "authorized" referrals...meaning referrals we actually know and have worked with in the past...

When we come together as a Group, we get to know each other...so I like the idea of using what we have in the way of community referrals here...of building our referral network across the country.
