I can't believe that price! Our values have dropped significantly, but that would still be over $200,000.

JASON - I can't believe that you can still get homes like that for that kind of money.  On Long Island, that basically buys a teardown in a drug dealer neighborhood.

Wow - thats twice the size of my condo and much less than 1/2 the price!  I'd move there - but then I'd have to compete with you for business!!

Jason, here's what you can buy for that price in the D.C. area:

Actually, that might be too low for this type of home.  There are a few bank-owned studio and 1 bedroom condos available and quite a few "as is" fixer-upper units in the under $150K price range.

Jason:  Inventive way to show some great properties in your area.  I especially like how you brought Dell's headquarters into the description.  Anyone seeking a job with Dell might find that one thing to be the selling point.  And Brian, in regards to your comment - that's taking "as is" to a whole new level!  LOL

TERI - Taxes here are relatively high, although they just dropped a bit over the past two years.  Most of them range from the low 2% range to around 3%.

LISA - If you have any investors considering other markets, this is still a great place to look.  Thanks for checking it out!

JENNA - I have an entire series of these in different price ranges.  Thanks for your compliment!

MIKE - I thought that this one might have some impact on people if they find it.  Thanks for stopping by!

ADAM - It is a pretty stark difference, isn't it?  I can hold one of these for you if you like.  If you need something larger, I could probably find you a really nice place for around $250,000 or so.

KAREN ANNE - Thanks!  Me, too.  Merry Christmas and have a terrific 2008, my friend.

GAIL - It's funny - not that long ago you could find these types of values in south Austin.  There is more land available on the north side, I suppose.

ANDREW - I saw your comment a couple of days ago, and I considered writing something until I saw that they had already lost the championship game.  I really appreciate the suggestion!  Pflugerville is actually the location of the TV show "Friday Night Lights" - they even use the same mascot name ("Panthers").

TOM - I use that term a lot ("bang for the buck").  Thanks for your comments.  Yes, Austin is a great place to live and work.

DAN - I am glad that you liked it.  I also like seeing comparisons with other markets - it is amazing to me sometimes to see the differences.

JAMES - If you move here, you can work with our company and have some leads, too!  :-)  No need to compete - I am always looking for good, experienced agents.

BRIAN - I would like to place an offer on that property, sight unseen.  The photo makes it look nice.

DONNA - Thanks!  I have written a bunch of these in different price ranges.  I thought using Dell might help as well.
