On April 21, 2011 the Cascades to Coast subsection of the American Water Works Association held its fourth annual Best Tasting Water competition. Corvallis tap water won the first year of the competition in 2008. Over the next two years, the award was won by EWEB in Eugene and Violia in Sweet Home.
In 2011 the title was returned to Corvallis.
The competition is open to all water utilities from the coast to the Cascade crest and includes Lincoln, Benton, Lane, Linn, Deschutes, and Crook Counties.
As the winner of the sub-section, Corvallis tap water is qualified to compete in the regional competition for Oregon, Washington, and most of Idaho, and the winner of that competition is invited to compete internationally.
