I hope all is well in the Kentlands. We are having spring here and there are a lot of flowers blooming all over. I have been so busy, I have'nt been able to even keep up with all the work. Let alone the Active Rain posts and comments.

Poppies are blossoms that remind me of my childhood. There was always quite a number of them blooming in mom's summer garden. I remember one variety that I hadn't seen in decades. It was a variety of Asian Poppy with very large vivid blooms. A couple of years ago I planted a wildflower mix in my back yard, and several of those came up, and enchanted me.

Thanks so much for your comments. Dolores and I were out of town today. We visited Winterthur in Wilmington, Delaware and Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. We are fortunate to live close enough to make a day trip to these wonderful travel destinations.

Good morning to all. Google the name Iceland Poppy for multiple images of this beautiful flower. Iceland Poppies are much larger than the common poppies that many of us see in our neighborhoods. I photographed some Iceland Poppies at Longwood Gardens on Friday.

Roy, poppies are another plant I miss living here in the desert. Thank you for your great photos to remind me why they are one of my favorite flowers - they're simply beautiful.
