See Spot Run - Dog Fun in Yakima
If you've never been to Yakima you may think it's just this little town in the middle of Washington State, and actually it is! But Yakima offers a great location for families and of course, pets.
Yakima is the kind of place where everyone gets to know everyone else. And while the area is best known for its apple orchards, around here, people will tell you that it is the people working together who make Yakima one of Washington States richest treasures.
So, it’s no surprise to see the community come together to help out some other friends, dogs and cats that need a home. April 29th the 10th Annual “See Spot Run” run and walk will bring more than 300 animal lovers together to make a statement of support for homeless pets while basking in the warm Spring sunshine.
In keeping with Yakima’s inclusivity, furry friends are welcome to join the human participants or they can opt to share the day with an adoptable dog! What could make the day better? How about food and drinks, demonstrations (not the picketing kind) and an array of awe inspiring prizes for race winners! Oh by the way, you can also contribute to the care of one of these adorable and needy pets waiting for adoption.
Everyone is welcome with or without Fido. Regardless of you fitness and athletic prowess, you can show off those new running (walking) shoes and take part in the fun and excitement. If you are not quite up to the 5K course, a “Reader’s Digest” version is available.
Yakima is a diverse community with a great history of working together. There are a number of great schools and real estate prices are quite reasonable with the median price of a home at about $129,000. Whether you choose Yakimabecause of its surroundings, its close knit community or thriving business community, it’s a great place to live.
