Okay, I've been tagged for a MeMe - again - by Martin Abehaus. He wants to know more about the Lady In Red, so okay - here goes. I won't repeat anything from my former MeMe ‘cause I've lived long enough to have lots of interesting things to share.
-
This past week, my hubby and I drove to Long Beach, California to share in the celebratory ceremony for our beautiful daughter who graduated from the RN Program at Long Beach City College. What a great experience it was so see her enter the auditorium with a HUGE smile on her face having achieved such an unbelievable goal. She is a single mom with six children, (all of whom were there) and life as she's known it will never be the same. No more case studies, no more 12-hour clinicals, no more quizzes; just the Board test, and then she's on with the rest of her life.
- In my former MeMe, I mentioned I was the eldest of a family of seven girls and one boy. What I didn't tell you is that I was also "the" rebel of the group. I frequently ran away from home (camping in the back yard and in the bushes around the property) beginning in my pre-teens. My siblings would bring me food. I would build a fort with towels, etc., and they were so envious since they now had to do all of the work. I went to five high schools living with different family members - did I say I was a rebel? I started out in Phoenix and ended up graduating from Olympia High School. Anyone remember the Fleetwoods singing duo? Fleetwood was the prefix of the phone numbers in my day, and the Fleetwoods were in my class. The girls who sang Lollipop were also in my class.
- I crave knowledge, and as such am an avid reader and class attendee. Computers and the limitless information the internet has to offer has captured my brain so much so that I have to walk away and take a break - so that I have time to read.
- I am learning to play golf so that I can spend more time with my husband. I am already understanding his somewhat obsessive love of the game.
- I love the color red (no kidding), meat loaf made by my husband, the smell of pine trees, the festivities and meaning of Christmas, the mountains, the smell of fresh rain, country music, good surprises, fresh baked bread, my husband, my children and grandchildren, and life.
Now, I would suggest that anyone wanting to tag a nominee for a MeMe report from a Rainer, stop by Lucky Lang's wonderful collection of alphabetized MeMe contributors listed at the top of the MeMe Group. He also gives a tutorial.
I am tagging the following named ladies - who have not already been tagged - to tell us about them:
