Wanta Know More About Me? Okay, here goes!!!!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Homes Arizona Real Estate LLC

Okay, I've been tagged for a MeMe - again - by Martin Abehaus. He wants to know more about the Lady In Red, so okay - here goes.  I won't repeat anything from my former MeMe ‘cause I've lived long enough to have lots of interesting things to share.

  • This past week, my hubby and I drove to Long Beach, California to share in the celebratory ceremony for our beautiful daughter who graduated from the RN Program at Long Beach City College. What a great experience it was so see her enter the auditorium with a HUGE smile on her face having achieved such an unbelievable goal. She is a single mom with six children, (all of whom were there) and life as she's known it will never be the same. No more case studies, no more 12-hour clinStephanie graduationicals, no more quizzes; just the Board test, and then she's on with the rest of her life.

  • In my former MeMe, I mentioned I was the eldest of a family of seven girls and one boy. What I didn't tell you is that I was also "the" rebel of the group. I frequently ran away from home (camping in the back yard and in the bushes around the property) beginning in my pre-teens. My siblings would bring me food. I would build a fort with towels, etc., and they were so envious since they now had to do all of the work. I went to five high schools living with different family members - did I say I was a rebel? I started out in Phoenix and ended up graduating from Olympia High School. Anyone remember the Fleetwoods singing duo? Fleetwood was the prefix of the phone numbers in my day, and the Fleetwoods were in my class. The girls who sang Lollipop were also in my class.

  •  I crave knowledge, and as such am an avid reader and class attendee. Computers and the limitless information the internet has to offer has captured my brain so much so that I have to walk away and take a break - so that I have time to read.

  • I am learning to play golf so that I can spend more time with my husband. I am already understanding his somewhat obsessive love of the game.

  • I love the color red (no kidding), meat loaf made by my husband, the smell of pine trees, the festivities and meaning of Christmas, the mountains, the smell of fresh rain, country music, good surprises, fresh baked bread, my husband, my children and grandchildren, and life.

Now, I would suggest that anyone wanting to tag a nominee for a MeMe report from a Rainer, stop by Lucky Lang's wonderful collection of alphabetized MeMe contributors listed at the top of the MeMe Group. He also gives a tutorial.

I am tagging the following named ladies - who have not already been tagged - to tell us about them:

Paula Smith

Suzi Gravenstuk

Kelly Pangburn

Teri, Somehow I already knew you were a rebel, lol! Your daughter is beautiful and amazing, to do that with six children as a single mom, what can I say? Your thoughts on knowledge and taking a break to read are also my feelings. Have a great Holiday, it sounds like you are having a happy life:)

Teri - This was a great and warm meme.  Congrats to your daughter!  What an interesting tidbit about "Lollipop".  You should put this one in Family Ties as well.

Elizabeth, thank you - she is beautiful, and thank you for saying she looks like me. How funny that you were a rebel too.........a deserted witches' house? Very funny the things we come up with as children.

Elaine, yes I'm the Lady In Red. Why do you ask? Have you heard of me? :-)  It's good to know you as well. Yes, she has done a wonderful thing and we are extremely proud of her.

Martin, not a problem. Like I said, I've lived long enough I have lots to share. My daughter really isn't that old - only 38. She's a remarkable woman and a great mother.  You're welcome Martin, glad you enjoyed it - it was fun remembering and thinking about what I wanted to share.

Karen, how could you tell that I was a rebel? Guess it takes one to know one, huh. Thank you for your kind words about Stephanie........she is a beautiful and amazing young woman.

Cynthia, how is it that everyone can tell I was a rebel? Hmmmmmmm, does that come across in my blog posts? Yes, Stephanie has achieved her goal and she is amazing. It was not easy for her especially since we're not there to help out here and there. We do talk on the phone most of each day though, and she can vent her frustrations. It's great to be able to be so involved in her life from 400 miles away.

Sally, thanks for coming by. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you as well.

Jason, glad you enjoyed my MeMe. Thank you, and you couldn't possibly remember that song - so you must like 50's music? The girls that sang that were in my class, but I don't recall if they ever sang another one that was that popular. The guys that were the Fleetwoods sang Mr. Blue, remember that one? Very cool. Okay, I'll add this to family ties. First I'll have to join the group.

I primarily remember "Lollipop" from the movie "Stand by Me" in the 80's.  I don't know "Mr. Blue" offhand.  I thought you were already a member of our group.  Thanks for joining Family Ties!

Excellent meme! I have just been tagged for a second time and will probably get around to writing it over the next 48 hours. Heck if I do it on Christmas Day there probably won't be many readers!!

Simon, thank you for the "excellent."  We all have interesting insights into our lives that are of interest to our other Rainer friends. I look forward to reading about you. Besides, I'll bet lots of us are still going to check our Active Rain blog posts. Have a Merry Christmas.

Lady in Red, I have already "Memed" a couple of times, so I think I disqualified. It was refreshing to read about you. Your daughter is an Inspiration; please let her know. You most definitely have the personality of an Independent.

Christmas and Thanksgiving are all year long to me-Its the Spirit. So, happy everyday!

Hi Teri: Yes, rebel was my actual nickname in junior high. :) I haven't changed much, and it doesn't sound like you have, either! No wonder I like you.

P.S. We need more rebels in this world.

Suzi, just cause you already did a MeMe, does not mean we don't want to know more, more, more. You need to let Lucky Lang know so he can put your name down 'cause I checked and it didn't show up - unless of course, you've changed your name! :-)

Teri, actually I had a couple of MeME's somewhere. I have something in mind. It usually takes me about a week off and on to do a MeMe. However, I need to review the rules because I want to post publicly to consumers. They have a right to know what we are really like.

Suzi, I posted to the public as well. I wanted my daughter to be able to read and see what was posted since it was so special. I'm not sure I really want them to know how rebellious I was though. :-)

This is my second one so far.........one every six months isn't bad, heh?

Teri, thanks for stopping by. Yeah, she's quite the woman. And she was sort of a rebel too. Not as bad as her mom - well maybe, on second thought, she was. :-)  Anyway, she's my pride and joy!

Elizabeth, I could tell you were a rebel too. :-) My mother always used to tell me - I hope you have a daughter like you. In other words, I was such a challenge :-)  Turns out that rebels (at least some of us) turn out to be survivors and make things happen.

Hope you're having a Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year.
