Good quality color photographs of homes for sale

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty Premier Properties

Good quality color photographs of homes for sale go without saying - or at least they should!  Having participated in two real estate webinars and one live seminar last week on the importance of taking and presenting good quality, color photographs of homes for sale (both exterior and interior shots) on behalf of sellers I am very appreciative that my father’s training as a professional photographer led me to receive some excellent lessons from him when I was young.  I started off with a “box brownie” camera and went on to a single lens reflex camera when I was a young adult.  All the photographs I took of homes for sale in England in my early real estate career were with my single lens reflex camera, manually set, adjusted for light, time of day, color of the image etc., even though the resulting photographs were all in black and white and of an excellent quality I might add.

When I chose my first digital camera with interchangeable lenses about 10 years ago I made sure that I could switch it from automatic to manual when required.  In the intervening 20 years I had more or less forgotten the power of manual adjustments when photographing my real estate listings and the recent classes have reminded me again of this powerful tool!  Later this afternoon, as the sun sets, I will be experimenting with some new ideas on my own home (which is not listed for sale!) and then duplicating them with my current (and future) real estate listings for sale.  I am excited to “return to my true photographic roots” and looking forward to producing some very different shots of homes for sale over the next few months.

I am currently looking for suitable subject homes on which to experiment and will be seen, with tripod in hand, taking photographs furiously as I try out the different manual settings again.  I am primarily looking to help sellers achieve the maximum exposure for their homes for sale on all the websites out there – mine, my company’s and the syndicated third party sites  to which we subscribe – and ultimately attract the highest number of potential buyers for each listing.   Contact me if you are looking for good quality color photographs of homes for sale.

I could not agree with you more... We have professional photographers photograph our properties because I believe it plays such a critical role in the marketing program... Some times our agents pass up on this free offer which I think is crazy but they and the seller always pay a price... Good luck!

Hi Lucy,

I also have a flair for photography.

During college I was the photographer for our year book, and carried lenses, and tripods, the big camera bag, etc.

That has led me to today...

I hire a professional to take pictures of all my listings.

Me? I whip out a pocket sized camera that I can carry anywhere!

I too hire a professional photographer to take photos for the majority of my listings (not land or tear downs of course!) however the problem is that he is only available during the week at 10 am, 12 noon or 2 pm and, if I want a specific photo or the weather is not co-operating, it is up to me to take different exteriors!
