Dallas International Film Festival 2012Dallas International Film Festival

The Dallas International Film Festival (DIFF) kicked off last Thursday night with a post screening of the film "Liberal Arts,"  at the Majestic Theater in Dallas.  Produced and directed by Josh Radnor, this brilliant comedy-drama stars Radnor, Elizabeth Olsen, Zac Efron, Richard Jenkins, and Allison Janney. Premiered at the Sundance Film Festival January 2012, this film is scheduled for release next Fall.

This year, the Dallas International Film Festival will screen over 125 films, from 27 countries, at the Angelika Film Center, Magnolia, Northpark Center AMC, Texas Theatre, Hotel Palomar, and Fair Park Hall of State. Other special events are scheduled at the Nasher Sculpture Center. In some cases, cast members, directors, and producers are available for questions and answers after the screenings. The film Festival is a good opportunity to learn a great deal about film production and marketing.

"RoboCop" will celebrate its 25th anniversary, with a special screening at the Texas Theatre.  Cast and crew members are scheduled to attend this special event on Saturday, April 21, 7:30 PM at the Texas Theatre.

For films, schedules, and other related special events, please contact the Dallas International Film Festival website and box office.

Sharon, this sounds like a great event. We just had the Florida Film Festival in Orlando.

I can't believe Robocop is 25 years old.  That was probably the last time I saw a movie in a theatre.  LOL.  This sounds as if it could be quite a hobby with 125 films to choose from!

Im with Ron and cant believe that Robocop is that old. Not sure why we would celebrate it though. Was it that good of a movie and I just didnt get it at the time? Well, Im sure some will go and really enjoy it after so many years. As for the Film Festival, I didnt realize we would be showing that many films. Definitely worth checking out.

Patricia, I hope you can attend some of the screenings. Many genres are represented in the Festival.  Although our schedules are crazy, there are films at many different hours on different days.  Some films are shown on multiple days.
