Great posting, Doug! There is always a fine line when trying to balance your company hours with your family hours! I do believe that you can be successful with some overlapping of each! Sometimes the rules and standard practices as defined by each state's real estate commission / governing body, forces us to behave in a "timely or reasonable manner", and we must provide that service to the public. Example: working an offer that comes in Friday at 9pm, expecting a response within 24 hrs, and that listing broker specifies they do not work the weekend. Is that reasonable?
If a listing broker does not believe they have to work the weekends... then hire a licensed assistant to work YOUR weekends. Then you can have your family time, like a normal working individual.
