I had to RE-BLOG this to get to my sphere.  I am all about keeping and sharing a positive attitude, so when I run across something so profound I share it.  Happy reading and may this add a little light to your day.

Via Mike Cooper (Winchester Real Estate Sales, Cornerstone Business Group Inc):

I recently heard a CEO say, "Life sucks sometimes.  Get over it!"  That probably sounds a little of harsh, but hidden in that simple statement is a huge world of truth.  In my simple mind, it seems that our society has gotten so accustomed to blaming others for our negative circumstances that we can't see a way out of them.

We can soon find ourselves in a rut.  The truth is, a rut is just a grave with the ends knocked out.  The longer you stay there, the more difficult it is to get out.  I seriously doubt that most people would want to live a life of turmoil, so, I want to challenge you to take a new look at your life.  And, allow me to give you a few things to think about.

  • You are the master of your universe.  Realize, every person had a Master of your universechildhood which turned into an adulthood.  Some had a great childhood, and some people had a childhood that was full of pain and struggle.  It does affect you and the way you think, good or bad, but, the ability to turn a tough life into a great life is within your grasp.  Even if you had a good childhood, there is still room to improve it into a great life.  You are the master of your universe.
  • Break the chains of your past so they cannot dominate your future.  My dad left our house when I was four.  He promised he would teach me all the names of his tools as soon as he came back.  I was so excited.  It was thirteen years before Break the chains of the pastI saw him again.  When we finally met up again, I was a young man.  Many friends asked me if I resented my father.  My answer was always the same, "Why? He made his choices.  My responsibility is to make better choices that don't leave heartache and pain in my wake."  I cannot allow his choices, and the sting and confusion they brought to a four year old, to dominate my life now.  Break the chains of your past.
  • Decide how far you want to go in life, and then be ready to adjust it upward.  In the investment seminars I've taught I get one comment just about every time.  Someone will say, "No one in my family has ever been rich.  What makes you think I could be rich?"  My answer is always the same, "Why not?"  Over 80% of the millionaires in the United States are first generation millionaires.  Why not you?  Decide how far you want to go in life.
  • Learn good information quickly, and then build on it.  Too many would be entrepreneurs spend too much time un-learning the things they started building their careers with.  If you have a vision to do something, find someone who has succeeded in the same field and pick his brain, read his books if he has them, go to his seminars and learn what Bright ideastechniques he used that will work for you.  Learn your craft from successful people.  Don't go to a failure to learn how to be successful.  Learn good information quickly.
  • Accept responsibility for your decisions both good and bad, and move on.  Learn from mistakes.  Be quick to apologize.  Don't repeat mistakes, adjust, modify, test and re-try.  Don't beat yourself up because you fail at something.  Stick to your vision and continue to move forward toward your goals.  Accept responsibility for your decisions.

Our ability to achieve great things lies within us.  Our ability to believe in our ability to achieve great things is something we may need to learn.  Sometimes it  means forsaking a lot of things you learned while growing up that is more likely to put weights on your ankles than to put wings on your back.
