The Space Shuttle Discovery will be flying over Washington DC today between 10am and 11am. NASA will be streaming the flight and after the flyover the Discovery will land at Dulles International Airport. Assuming the weather cooperates the shuttle should be flying at about 1,500 feet and be visible from Reagan National Airport, the National Mall, National Harbor and the Smithsonian’s Udvar-Hazy Center.
A four day arrival ceremony will be held starting on April 19 at The National Air and Space Museum (Udvar-Hazy Center) for the shuttle’s final delivery. The event will be open to the public and admission is free. Parking is $15. The outside ceremony area will be open from 9am to 6pm. The Center will be open from 8am to 6:30pm (an extra hour for the celebration). For more information visit the Welcome Discovery Celebration.
