COME HOME TO THE FABULOUS BEACH COMMUNITIES OF LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA

Beach Communities of Long Beach California

Resort Style Living at the Heart of Long Beach

Want to live in a luxurious resort community without giving up the conveniences of an urban lifestyle? Head to Belmont Shore and Naples Island along the Long Beach Peninsula. You'll find resort style living at the heart of Long Beach! Here, rows of sailboats bob at docks along the waterfront. Palm trees are massaged by cool ocean breezes. Look no further for top notch shopping, entertainment, beaches, water activities, and unsurpassed dining opportunities. And it's all just minutes away from bustling, vital, Downtown Long Beach.

Waterfront Enchantment

Do you like the beach? There's plenty of it here! At the southern end of Long Beach land stretches and thins into a finger shaped wedge of waterfront enchantment. On one side of this peninsula graceful East Coast shingle style homes overlook the vast Pacific Ocean. On the other, lovely Alamitos Bay caresses the three luxurious water encircled bundles of earth that are Naples Island. At the tip of the Peninsula is the Long Beach Yacht Club.

Lovely Belmont Shore

Travel just around the bend at the Second Street/Livingston/Ocean Boulevard stoplight in Long Beach and you'll find yourself in friendly Belmont Shore. You'll be in good company! You'll enjoy meeting neighbors as you stroll by the boutiques, businesses and shops of the popular Second Street shopping area. Grab a cappuccino at Starbucks and enjoy the day. The fun doesn't stop just because the sun goes down! People travel from all over the country to visit this lovely four mile area.

Graceful Yachts and Elegant Mansions

Follow Second Street across sparkling Alamitos Bay and you'll be at the center of quaint Naples Island. Here, graceful yachts float before elegant waterfront mansions. Flower-lined walkways, five Venetian inspired bridges and a city full of palm trees line a mile of tranquil canals. You'll view spectacular ocean vistas from patios in some of the most sought after places to live. Be sure to meander along the waterfront where sidewalks are shaded by tall palms and garnished with colorful flowers. Here, children play in the sand and paddle about in brightly hued kayaks. In the summer, one bay front street is closed so children can safely travel to and from the beach.

Romantic Naples Island

You'll love the canals, bay and beaches that surround Naples Island! Naples consists of three individual islands...and all have canals that pour into Alamitos Bay. Just like its European namesake, streets in this popular seaside community have Italian names. And since 1971, La Bella Fontana di Napoli, a large fountain at the center of Naples Island, has been a popular meeting place. Looking for a romantic getaway? Take your sweetheart on an Italian style gondola cruise along picturesque canals.

very well put together blog about  "long Beach". You are presenting your area in full details.AR is inspiring us to know even more about our county/city and presenting all sorts of usefull info to the public. I did a few of Fort Myers and Lover's Key of Lee County and have used some link from my web site to them. The public in general is very thirsty for Information and who better then realtors to do it.

Laurie, this is an excellent post, you really covered everything!  I spent 13 years working in Downtown Long Beach for the oil industry (World Trade Center and the Arco Towers).  There are SO many great restaurants- LaOpera, 555 and Tequila Jacks are a couple of my favorites.  It is amazing how fast the Pike went up and the all the beautiful new condos.  Long Beach is such a diverse city, you can find anything there.  A friend who visited from London said the Museum of Latin Art was one of the best collections he had ever seen.

Lloyd, Thank you very much.  It is so important for people in relocation situations to be able to access valuable area information.  Having moved across the country myself I realize how valuable it would have been to have been able to access this type of information at that time.  Thank you for stopping by.

Bryant,  There is a lot of wonderful Shadow Art on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore.  I am planning on spending a day down there soon and photographing more of it for a post on just that.  Thank you for stopping by.

Gina,  I love Downtown Long Beach, some of my favorite restaurants in the City are down there.  I also love the Skyroom and La Traviata.  Downtown has certainly come a long way in a short time.  I love what has been done with the Pike/Rainbow Harbor area, it is so attractive now and such a pleasant place to go to relax.  It is true that Long Beach has is all now, so much so that I rarely have a reason to leave it for anything, tends to keep you very local.  The Museum of Latin Art (MoLaa) is truly a cultural wonder. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Renee, Oh yes we have casinos in nearby areas, but nothing on the grand scale of Las Vegas.  Yes I know of a very good Realtor, lol.  Thanks for stopping by.

Lysa, Long Beach has gone through, and is still going through, dramatic changes.  Each year the changes are profound.  It was slow getting started but once it got rolling there is no stopping it now.  Long Beach has truly become the most phenomenal place to call home, entertain, work and to play.  I am particularly fond of Downtown Long Beach, but just love it all.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
