Dear Marge -
Nice to see your smile on the monitor!
I think the only thing the agent could have done differently would be to have had HER Broker call the AGENT’s Broker. As a Broker - it is my responsibility to support my agents so no un-cooperative person on the other side can sabotage our agent’s hard work.
Not much else to say -- just sorry the person you reblogged lost her sale!
Have a happy day -
Lynn
Marge, I agree with Lynn. Anytime there are big problems... I call my broker for assistance!
Marge~there is an agent in my "vicinity" who was fired from my brokerage years ago, before I became an agent there. She's still around and she is a flat-out LIAR. When she comes around, I cringe every time.
Hopefully Paula can resurrect the deal at some point in the future, #1, #2, hopefully she doesn't have to do business with this agent EVER AGAIN.
I call their broker when I have a problem agent, Marge. Sometimes, unfortunately, that broker is just as bad.
Hi Marge - I agree that a broker-to-broker conversation might have helped, but it seemed to me that the seller (for their comfort level) wanted something that the buyer was unable to provide...
Dear AR Frienads and Acquaintances,
In Georgia, the BROKER must call the other BROKER. Perhaps it is different in Florida where Toni, my wonderful mentor, is located. Here - the agent should ask his/her BROKER to make the call to the others.
Have a happy day -
Lynn
Lynn,
Thanks! In AZ an agent can call the broker on the other side (I have) or one can ask for a broker to broker conversation to address issues. We have a ton of agents who get their broker's license and become the designated broker for their office of one (I may do that myself soon) and then there is nowhere to go.
Gayle,
I have been way lucky, in that most all the agents on the other side of my deals are wonderful. This month I have closed some of the smoothest deals of all time. I try to focus on the good ones and let the bad ones go elsewhere! At least you know who to avoid....
Toni,
So do I. And often they are their own broker. Or agree with whatever the agent does. All we can do is be better than that!
Karen,
You may be right and the seller felt they had to have the credit report which they couldn;'t obtain but that doesn't excuse missing deadlines and refusing to return phone calls. I would have called the broker myself but we can do that in Arizona.
Hopefully, Paula will find an even better deal for her buyers!
I am with everyone else, Call the Broker...that is the only answer. Other than that, time to move on to another home which bites, but.nothin one can do.
Marge, I disable the post because I felt like such a whiner! And, you are right. I can be the uncooperative one as well if I do not feel like my client is being served. What I do know is this. I love it when both parties work well together, whether we are the same page or not. Some of my most difficult deals have been with agents I adore ...making it all worthwhile and doable....respect.
