Make Your Real Estate Newsletters an Invited Guest

Real Estate Technology with IXACT Contact Real Estate CRM

Real Estate Newsletters are central to real estate email marketing successSay a REALTOR® completes a transaction. The client is pleased with the services, the price for which the house sold, the quality of the home purchased, etc.

Then, a month later, the client receives a real estate e-Newsletter that the Realtor has sent through their real estate contact management software. Even though the publication is professionally designed and written — packed with valuable information — the client does not read it.

Why? Most likely the client didn’t know they were going to receive the e-Newsletter in the first place.

It’s uninvited.

A client receives countless unsolicited e-Newsletters, e-Flyers and other emails every day. If that client doesn’t know he is going to receive your real estate e-Newsletter, it may inadvertently get lumped into the same “junk mail” category as all the rest.

How Do You Avoid this to Make Your Real Estate Email Marketing Effective?

At the end of a successful transaction, let your clients know that you would like to stay in touch with them and that one of the ways you stay in touch is through your real estate newsletters. Here’s an example of what you can say:

“As I do with all my clients, I’d like to send you information each month to help you get the most out of your new home. Is this okay with you?”

Most clients will say “yes.”

You’re trying to give your real estate e-Newsletters the same status as other welcomed publications your clients may receive, such as their favorite magazines.

When your real estate e-Newsletter is invited, it stands a better chance of being noticed. And read.

With IXACT Contact’s real estate CRM, email marketing is a breeze and sending out a monthly real estate e-Newsletter to your clients and /or real estate leads is effortless. Select from one of our pre-designed e-Newsletter templates or use our monthly e-Newsletter we’ve already designed and written for you. Just choose your contacts and hit the send button!

Takeaway point: Make sure your newsletter isn’t considered junk mail by first getting permission to send it.

"Welcome Home!"

Thanks Rich! I never looked at this as "uninvited", however you are 100% correct.

Good Morning Rich, and you are correct in saying many emails do not get opened because they are considered suspicious and unwanted. By asking permission, you absolutely get better responses - otherwise, that person feels they are getting spammed by you.

Hi Michael - it's a good idea to ask clients if it's ok to send it to them your e-Newsletter or keep in touch with them in some way so they won't see your e-newlseter and automaticly label it 'junk.' You'd be surprised at how often this happens.

Re Newsletters I would have thought the option to "opt out" after receiving 1 Newsletter would be enough.  But, as you've explained it your reasoning makes perfect sense and is the respectful/gracious way to approach it.  I know I hit delete on "tons" of realtor listing/open house blasts" and consider them unsolicited spam.  Thanks.
