Ambidextrous...
There are times when I just have to scratch my head with a garden rake and wonder, what do some folks use for brains? It really can't be that hard to get things right is it? Now I know that some folks are ambidextrous in that they can mess a job up with either hand. Such was the case of the installation of the drawers in this corner cabinet situation
.
Now maybe, the original design was to use finger pulls on the drawers. But one has to wonder why someone didn't notice the slight problem when the handles were installed? I know that I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I sure would like to know how to get stuff in and out of these drawers? Talk about a waste of space! I'm not talking about the drawers - I'm referring to the area between the ears...

Michael!~I hope I never have to sell a house like this, because the owners may very well not be able to sign the paperwork if they can't get a drawer open!!!

That's funny! Was this a fix and flip by any chance? Surely no homeowner would continue living with that little inconvenience.

As I was looking at the upper photo, I was thinking that the bottom drawer would do the same thing!  Then behold!  Another photo!  I find this stuff amazing.

Michael, you know someone thought this was just fine, right up until these drawers were opened for the first time, and then they thought "Aw, heck, it sure looks good, no one will notice!"

Hi Michael.  Too funny and too common.  The space between the ears is the most important.

Looked good in design. Then, they attached the handles and removed all doubt! Enjoy your day!

Lets shake things up at your home today!

My brother that moved back to this area from Texas bought a beautiful home with a totally renovated kitchen..........done just like this...........makes me crazy when I have to go there on Thursday and cook for Mickey.  Not cooking for Mickey of course, the crazy layout of the kitchen cabinets and drawers.  Makes you wonder.............someone actually got paid to do that job.

It looks like the "carpenter" (yicks !) was more concerned that the not so custom pieces all fit neatly in the space rather than that they were functional....urgh !

Michael,

Well "Scratch my head with a garden rake!" I know that I'm not the "Sharpest Knife in the drawer," either, but geeze! what were they thinking??? Even I would have noticed! Plus, I would NOT be happy with that kitchen - why didn't somebody fix it long before you went over to inspect the joint? Maybe these folks are on drugs and maybe they don't cook or use their cabinets, but come on!

This is just the stupidest thing I've ever seen, with the exception of owning a home with a large Picture Window on one wall in the kitchen and absolutely no other (functional) windows on the back of the house. Why was this stupid? Because the Picture Window was covered with a thermal curtain and a giant dresser when I bought the house, and I didn't know that when you took the dresser away and took off the curtains, the window faced the garage door!!! And behind all those walls on the back of the house, with only one small window (about ceiling height, too high up there to look out of) was one acre of beautiful land and Forest Preserve (that nobody inside the house could see)!

Well, blow me down with a wet noodle, first time Home Buyers - beware! Inspect everything before you buy it and trust your Home Inspector when he says, "This isn't good!"

Patricia

Michael, but don't those handles look nice!!!  Actual functioning drawers are so over rated anyway.
