Working on "Christmas Day"

 Tangled Lights

Was just curious how many people had to work today, and how many people to off from work? How many people took a break to spend the holidays with their family?

How many REALTORS® worked on "Christmas Day"? How many REALTORS® phone rang today? How many REALTORS® showed a house today? How many REALTORS® blogged today?

How many REALTORS® just sat on the couch and didn't do anything all day? How many REALTORS® went out of town to visit family members?

I of course spent time with my family! /image_store/uploads/6/9/8/9/2/ar119862585529896.png

I spent time with my family.

I blogged.

I got e-mail contacts from buyers and sent them to agents to help them.

I got no buyer calls today.

I got an agent call today.

I got e-mail inquiries.

It was a good day.

Suppose that depends on what you classify as work... I posted, received comments and answered my AR friends but I consider that fun.  I'm sure many agents at larger family gatherings will touch on real estate conversations if the opportunity arises... We typically enjoy the work.... Scheduling showing seems a bit silly but under the right circumstances if someone at the party wanted a peek at an empty house on a lockbox it could happen....

Family is far away (Alabama as it happens!) was with them in spirit!

I also blogged...

Got a call from a long term buyer....way long term, and her name appropriately is Holly!

I cooked (am cooking rib roast)

And it snowed!  :  )

Family was in for the day, so I checked email and blogged a bit early this morning, again now that they've left.  I pulled my Closing for tomorrow together last night so that I COULD take today off to be with my family!  Merry Christmas!

No phone calls, no clients, no showings--it was just a wonderful family Christmas Day.

I only wish SOMEONE had called to make me work.  Being a new agent, I would have left my family today just for the chance to work, work, work, show a house, any house.  However, I did spend quite a bit of time on ActiveRain and enjoyed every minute of it.  Spent some great time with my family.  Happy Holidays to All, and Happy New Year too.

No work today. I spent it with my family. I have noticed, though, that only 800 people were on activerain a few minutes ago and now more than 200 more are online. Are we getting bored?

Actually a lot of people worked today.  Health care workers, police and fireman, and don't forget about our military.

What do you consider working? I guess if sending out a Christmas Wishes E-mail to my address book and blogging for a while is work, than yes I worked.  I didn't make any calls and I didn't show any property but somehow, now matter your intentions, this business is always "on"  Still had a nice day, Got Up, Read for a While, took dog for a walk, ate breakfast, read some more, opened presents, cleaned up from breakfast, read some more, watched a movie, ate dinner, slept on sofa.  Typical day in our house, but quieter than usual. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday, I certainly enjoy reading your thoughts.

I spent time with my family.  I cooked breakfast and lunch.  I cleaned up wrapping paper and did laundry.  So I feel that I worked today:)  I also checked my e-mails often during the day.  No showings and no phone calls.  So everyone must have been working the same as I.

Having 2 teenagers and a 21 year old, the day was pretty quiet for mom.  I checked my e-mails - yes, received a few from clients and I responded.  Checked the blogs; spent ALOT of time on Active Rain trying to read things that I missed!  :)   No phone and no showings.  E-mailed Holiday wishes to old clients to remind them that I'm still here and working for them.
