Our Trip to New York in September! Have you ever been there? It's incredible!

As I promised, I am sharing some of the photos of our trip to New York, to the New England States and to Canada. I will need to do this in bite-sized pieces; otherwise, it would be difficult for me to sort through 400+ photos to weed out the best of the best.

We stayed in Manhattan on 35th between 5th and 6th Avenue right around the corner from the Empire State Building. Our first experience riding the subway was when we jumped aboard to go to South Ferry where we caught the boat to the Statue of Liberty and to Ellis Island. Very impressive. We were just in awe!

I can't believe I'm this old, and this is the first time either of us have been to New York. We are southwesterners I guess, but we loved the east. Coming from Mesa, Arizona, New York seems like another world. Loved it!

I had made reservations for both the Empire State Building and the Top of the Rock so we could make sure we could get in. You will see some photos taken from the Empire State Building early in the day and in the evening from the Top of the Rock. It was a bit hazy so the photos of the Hudson River weren't as clear as I would have liked them to be, but the ones from the Top of the Rock as night descended were more beautiful the longer we stayed. We walked all of the way from our hotel to Central Park - and it was in the 80's while we were there.

We went to Times Square and to the M&M Store. Check out the largest wall of M&M's. We walked until I couldn't walk anymore. We arrived on Monday evening and caught the ship on Thursday at around 1:00. We did a lot of stuff in two days. Scarely scratched the surface.

Anyway, hope you enjoy this! Note quite sure where to share this.

Maybe we need a group for travel?

Our Trip to New York!

Great pictures, my favorite city by far I go every chance I have and there is a small possibility of moving there in a few years and living in the city. Gotta do it now or I will probably never do it.

Christina, thanks for coming by. New York was incredible for a visit. Lots of energy and lots to do. Didn't even scratch the surface. Must go again.

Heather, thanks. I love to take photographs, and especially enjoyed taking the city as lights started turning on. Beautiful. So glad we went.

TERI - I've lived in NY my whole life, and a brief stint in New Jersey, where I overlooked the Statue Of Liberty.   You've already seen more than I have.  (LOL)  I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay here.  I have visited Arizona, and I agree that it is another world entirely.

Adam, isn't it true though? I lived in Southern California for 25 years and not once did I go to Catalina Island. I wanted the chance to visit so much more and to visit the burroughs (sp?), but another time. Thanks for coming by.

Teri- My grandfather once told that there were 4 cities in the US that had a culture of their own. Chicago, San Fransisco, New Orleans, and New York. All a must see. I have yet to see New Orleans.

New York is a wonderful city. I know we still have a lot of it to see but if felt like we walked all of Manhattan.

Barbara, thank you so much. ME TOO!!!! It is definitely an exciting town. Thanks for stopping by.

Steve, yes it is. It isn't hard to feel that way. Felt that way to us too. The heat didn't help either, but it was amazing.

How the heck did I miss the wall of M&Ms? I was just there at the end of October for an About.com conference. I adore New York, but I don't think I'd want to sell real estate there. I like driving places and parking in driveways. :)

I cold called Manhattan, mostly 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue for about ten years.  Names you know.  I miss doing that primarily because those people were so kind to me, and I made terrific friendships and a lot of money doing it.

And it was rarely difficult to see the person I was calling on unless they were out of town.  But then I'd catch them on my next trip.

So I love New York, too!

The M&M store is so cool and that wall of M&Ms!  I'm sure to dream about that tonight!  Great pictures and very moving to see the Statue of Liberty and the entrance to the Empire State Building.

Hi Donna: yes, I felt that way too. When I first saw the Statue of Liberty, I was in awe. It was incredible to see it standing there with her torch in her hand.  Thanks for coming by........glad you enjoyed it.

Teri,  I'm finally here, missed reading this post earlier.

Your pictures of NYC are absolutely awesome.  One of my favorite cities.  There's no city like it.  Can't wait to see the other pictures.  Did you go to Ellis Island -- I love it there too.

Judi, yes we did. I showed one or two photos of Ellis Island on this slideshow - from afar and with just the Welcome to Ellis Island sign in front. New York was wonderful. Now, when we watch anything in New York on television, we know where it is and have a point of reference. Thanks for comming by.
