I raced to get to the Activerain CT meetup at Dagny Eason’s home in Wilton on Monday, April 16. Life has been hectic for me lately. When I received the invitation for the April 16 CT meetup, I wasn’t going to be able to attend due to a scheduled brief getaway. I was so disappointed as I had also missed the last meetup before Christmas.
But here we go again. Life threw a couple curveballs, we couldn’t go away, I was going to be in CT but even so, could only that particular day afford a few hours or so of time. I didn’t know if I was going to make it to the meetup until that morning. I had less than 3 hours to get to Dagny's, spend some time there and move on to my next commitment. Could I make it?...... YES!
Barbara, George Souto, Marilyn Katz, Jim Quarello, Ed Silva, Scott
Saradin, Gail Robinson and Debbie Gartner.
As is the case whenever you're among friends I lost track of time. I was supposed to leave the meetup by 6 p.m. so I could make the next appointment. When I saw the clock in the kitchen reading 6:25 p.m. I freaked …. but our ‘hostess with the mostess’ Dagny informed me the clock was 15 minutes ahead. Phew!!
However, like I said, I had certainly lost track of the last two hours. Why? Well, I was meeting up with my ‘family’ of friends from ActiveRain who are just like that to me… family. When you walk into a meetup, it’s like old home week. Everybody knows your name (have you heard that someplace before?) and there’s SO much to talk about. Time just flies.
Did take a few camera shots with my fav being the TOP TWO ACTIVERAIN BLOGGERS IN CT! George Souto and Ed Silva. Now that's what I call two happy guys! ... probably from all that business they get from Activerain blogging.
I also realized that we had some really heavy hitters here. Besides Ambassador Dagny, George and Ed, we had Gail Robinson, Debbie Gartner, Jim Quarello, Marilyn Katz and Scott Saradin.
We all experience the camaraderie via commenting here on AR, but there’s nothing like the face-to-face meetups. If you get a chance to attend one in the future, do not hesitate. Really, it’s like spending time with friends you have known forever.
Thank you again Dagny for your superb hospitality and of course……..the banana bread. Delicioso!!!!
Cheers!
