Maybe it’s just human nature, but it’s easy to just let put off the repair of leaks from the winter rains until later. The leaking window, the water stains in the ceiling and the clogged downspout all seem unimportant now that the rains have subsided. It would be a good idea if these issues be corrected now.

Some of the leaks may not be doing any additional harm to your property; waiting for the rains to begin the cycle again seems a little silly. Clogged gutters and downspouts, for example, won’t take long to correct. Fixing the problem now will allow the water to flow as it was meant to flow.

Leaks that have caused damage inside the property should be addressed for several reasons. Most importantly, it is suggested that water damaged building materials can grow mold and mildew that will get worse and possibly make you sick. So repair the source of the moisture intrusion, than repair the damages.

Don’t have the time to do it yourself? Hire a professional. There are contractors in your area that are qualified to do the water damage repair work. Who can you call for help with dry rot and water damage repair?

If you are in the Sacramento County area, we would be happy to take a look at your repair problem.

Tromler Construction has been doing this sort of repairs for over 25 years.

 So I have to ask.

Are you going to ignore those winter leaks until it rains again?

Wow, you are on a leaky roll lately!  Good information as always.  But isn't it our nature to let it go, just for a while longer?

Yes, if the water has leaked all the way inside like that, that is a really bad sign.  Treating it soon is key.  Once mold is there, it's very costly to address.

It was great talking to you last night!  We should do again some time.

When buying a home, check the condition of the tires of the seller. If they are bald, beware.
