I had the pleasure to represent a charming couple who were relocating back to CA. I list many homes in our community so over the years I have developed a strong network with many agents who are representing buyers. I received a call from an agent whose clients missed one of our listings because it went under contract before they could see the home. The seller agreed to let them see the home even though they were in the midst of working through their list of “to-dos” in preparation for going to market. It was a perfect fit! We amended the listing agreement to an earlier start date. The buyers loved the home; the agent wrote an offer and allowed the seller to lease back until the end of the school year.
The sellers were grateful to receive what they wanted for the home and to eliminate the stress and anguish of having people traipsing through their home (something the wife dreaded). They were free to find their home in CA and stay to finish the school year for their daughter.
The seller called me to list their home because they appreciated our contributions to helping the community, were familiar with our signs, results and level of service. The transition is not always easy moving halfway across the country and we helped reduce that stress factor.
