There was a spirited discussion on the use of a local public ball field (seldom used) in Ellison Bay as a dog park last night at the Liberty Grove Town Board of Supervisors meeting.  This was brought on by a family with a special needs border collie that hasn't been able to successfully use the Sister Bay Dog Park.

Conversation was mixed, and the local service groups and historical society will discuss the use of the field by the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove North Fire Station (just north of Ellison Bay towards Gills Rock on Highway 42) as a possibility if it can be fenced in.  It was noted that a portion of the land was actually planned for a future dog park.

In the meantime, the use of the Ellison Bay Ballpark at Fitzgerald Park as an actual dog park remains tabled while people gather data.  Door County loves its dogs and other pets, and I hope a resolution comes soon.

One note:  Registration: is handled through the Town Treasurer. Please be ready to present your dogs rabies certificate showing the date of shot and when renewal is needed as well as manufacturer and lot # of serum.
