Do you have a WIFI network at home? Maybe your own WIFI at work? Here's a quick tip...

When setting up your WIFI network, instead of the normal names like "Home Network",  "Linksys", "Netgear" or the ever poetic "Belkin Router", make your SSID name an advertisment of your website! For example, if you come into my office building and look for available WIFI networks to connect to, mine will show up as "visit EdNailor.com"

While I do have my network secure and you could not use my WIFI network, it is broadcasting 24/7 365, so who knows if someone might see that and be curious enough to check it out.

Just another way to get my name out there!

Great tip! Comcast is coming out tomorrow to do wireless in my home so I'm going to make sure to do something like that.

oooh hooo That's one I hadn't thought of-smart cookie!  That would work and I like the idea.

Thanks Lanita and Doris.

Even if you don't have a need to go wireless, a wireless router costs under $50. Just plug it in, set it up and you got a 24/7 ad! Keep it open for business partners to use and you really get great exposure!

You are so smart, that is a great idea, mine say Ga Realtor, so I will now change it to my website.

Thank you and have a wonderful New Year!

I have wireless, thanks, I can't wait to do this!

I never thought of that before. Great idea but where in the world did you come up with that idea?

12/26/2007 10:52 PM by Brenda Sprankel, Calabasas - Simi Valley Realtor (Rodeo Realty, Calabasas Branch)

Lorinda: I wish you success in GA!

Frances: Let me know if it works on your router.

Sara: Thanks! (I try)

Brenda: I just moved my smaller router from home to the office and at home it was called "Nailor Family". Felt I needed to change it in the office and played with the name... was surprised it took it actually!

Jimmy: Double the ads! Cool.

Hmm - How the heck do you think up this stuff? I think I am pretty innovative, but I am not in your category.
