Please let me know what you think of New Year's Cards.  They are the perfect business hello "happy holidays" in my book.  I mean we are certainly after Christmas and after the Hanukkah and even the Kwanzaa (I hope I spelled that correctly!).  I love the holiday and new years is so fun that  everyone celebrates it no matter what the religion, so I'm thinking I should always do New Years hello and greeting to clients.

Peace on Earth for the New Year...what could ever be wrong with that????  It certainly sounds right to me.

Have I told you I'm a total procrastinator?  Maybe I'm just being me here.  Okay I want your input.  I also love the idea of not upsetting anyone.  Who could be upset with Peace on Earth for the New Year

Thanks John... I knew I could count on you.  Really you do holiday cards because you are on time.

I think thats a great idea...

Although I received a Happy New year card right at Christmas.. I thought that was kind of weird instead of a Christmas Card but we are on to something new now..New Years cards sound great!

Sounds nice to me,  I prefer to send something of value that hangs around all year - a calendar

p.s .  peace & good wishes are always of value

Ahhhhh, but what if you're Chinese and it's NOT Chinese New Year? How insensitive!!! See? You can never please all of the people all of the time. I think New Years cards are fine. I think Christmas cards are fine. I would not be offended if someone said Happy Hanuka to me any more than a Jewish friend would be if I bade them Merry Christmas. Just be who you are and let others appreciate you!

I plan to send out New Years cards as well - they might be late unless I get them all done today :)

Actually I had already thought about New Years cards.  It gives the mail time to thin out and your may get looked at.

Karen, I USUALLY send out Thanksgiving cards and not Christmas cards because they get lost in the shuffle and I think they mean more. So why not New Year Cards? I think it is a great idea.

I also chose to send New Year's cards instead of Christmas cards this year. It was one less thing I had to accomplish before Christmas and I do think they send an equally important message of well wishes for 2008.

I sent out New Years letters, not because I'm a procrastinator. Because I plan it that way, er, um, yeah I plan it that way. But the good news is that people are starting to slow down and may actually read it instead of throwing it into the pile. Go for it!

Just an FYI on the correct spellings: Hanukkah and Kwanzaa (also spelled Kwaanza, according to wikipedia).

I think it is a good idea but could it also infer...it really was too late to send Christmas cards by the time I decided to do this. :) LOL  Go ahead and 'do you'.

This is a nice idea, I have also thought of doing it.. guess I need to mail them today!!

Great idea!  One year I did Harvest greeting cards!  Happy New Year.

New Years cards are a great idea...be different from everybody else.  There is a great collection of New Year's cards on an online greeting card business I use.  Cards are cheap ($.62 per card), done in your own handwriting, mailed with an actual stamp, all from online!
You can try sending a card here if you're interested in seeing the New Year's cards or any of the other over 8000 pre-done cards...you can also make cards with your own pictures (I found that if you can get a photo of a child, sending them a birthday card with them on the front is a great idea).  I sent out New Years cards this year to each Realtor with whom I did a cross sale.  I put a photo of the home we sold on the front with a "Thanks for making '07 my best year yet...I hope '08 will be your best" message.

Fun, cheap, and easy!

In our increasingly multi-cultural world, I think New Years cards are a great idea and will stand out from the multitude of xmas cards received.

Wow such a simple blog and thank you all for the response.  Thank you Theo, I appreciate your thoughts.

Gail and Missy I love harvest ideas.  Maybe next year.

I try to do at least 4 value items to my A list.  Calanders are one of them & I purchase the ones that can be sent regular postage and have a Happy New Year theme rather than Christmas so I have more time to send them out.  I'm a procrastinator too!

12/29/2007 08:12 PM by Mary Ann Grafft (Keller Williams Realty)

Karen -  I have sent out Thanksgiving cards the last 4 years and have not done Christmas cards.  I do send out calendars at the end of the year too.  My thinking is that everyone gets Christmas cards but not many people get Thanksgiving cards.  It might make you stand out a bit more.  I think the New Years cards will propably do the same.  We have to do what we can to stand out from all the rest.

Good Luck with the New Year cards.  I am also one who sends Thanksgiving cards.  My opinion is to do whatever represents you while connecting with those your sending to.

Best of luck in 08.

Karen - this is a great idea!  I'm doing the same thing.  All the best to you in 2008!

12/30/2007 06:36 AM by Joseph Ellman (Realty Executives- Williams-Sykes Realty)

For our clients, we sent out a Thanksgiving card. For family and friends, I'll send out (as usual) Christmas cards on New Year's.

Karen...I've done it.  Folks receive so many cards (at least we use to before e-mail greetings) that a card coming just after the holidays is appreciated.

How was the response?

Cheers,

Kathleen

Hi Kathleen,  It was good!  I agree that people get too busy in December and it is nice to go before like Thanksgiving or after New Years.  Thanks for stopping by.
