 Getting More Customers with Pinterest

The newest craze in business marketing within social networks has a focus on Pinterest. Borrowing on the same concept as other social sites, it also adds a fresh twist to the use of images. Using pictures, you get to pass ideas and begin discussions. For business marketing, it has been a great tool for many companies to reach out to their customers and capture new ones. Moreover, as the use of any good business tool goes, you need to understand and have tips on how to use it to be successful. To get more customers using Pinterest for business, you should have the following issue in mind:

Capturing the Masses

What this is means is formulating ways in which you can get customers. That is, to get in front of eyes that would not normally see what it is that you offer to them, yet you know that it could be of a benefit.

To understand the potential in Pinterest towards achieving this goal, you can look at its latest statistics that show the site that ranks among the top ten, yet it is less than three years old. In addition, its membership is growing at a very fast rate.

Now, in any marketing oriented business discussion, who would not want to get a firm hold of this potential market? You only need to register, do your best in terms of keeping your current as well as your customers to be, abreast with what your company has to offer. This includes you posting the properties that you have for listing or services that you can offer to them that you know they need, but maybe they don’t know they need them yet. This is your chance to show and tell them.

 Keeping Them Informed

Marketing in any social site calls for an active involvement between both parties, in this case, the business and its customers. The more you post on what you intend to do in your business for your customer the more they are eager to find out what it is. Why Pinterest is making waves is because it has embraced more of visual interaction using a simple concept of pining images on a board. This is better than the use of written interactions, though it still does use writings as you and your customers exchange thoughts on the board about pinned pictures. The more interactive the board, the higher the chance of you raking in new customers/clients as the existing ones spread the word.

Seeking Out the Market

Granted that Pinterest for business is a great new marketing concept that can bring in many new customers. However, you still need to do your best and seek them out. Use the search feature and take your time to like the content on your board. You should also do the same on your customers’ boards; those who have shared on their boards something that you had pinned on yours. In doing this, you extend your social circle within Pinterest and other linked social networking sites. This will translate to more customers for your business.

Jeffrey, I have been using pinterest a lot for businessbut I tried to mix it with personal so I get followers for a variety of my boards rather than just pigeonhole me as someone they don't want to follow. So, I tried to post a variety of recipes, home decor, staging, and throw real estate and marketing in there as well. you can really be a great marketing tool

I only post quasi business. When I see listings I unfollow. I'm not a marketing target, I'm a friend.  Fee free to join my Pinterest group, I'll send you an invitation.

Hi Jeffrey: Thanks for the post- I'm still figuring out Pinterest myself.  I am not a Realtor so it's not as easy to make a correlating translation for business, but I will keep at it!  :)

Another good post Jeffrey. The more people who are on the site, the more valuable it becomes for those trying to keep in touch and make new contacts too.

Paul's comment (#6) above is so sincere he posted it to 9 other posts about Pinterest today.

I am enjoying Pinterest but I think there are more and more scammers on Pinterest everyday. I think an approach that it is about links, SEO, traffic or just a numbers game misses the point in sharing common interests with people.

I unfollow all the people trying too hard to create business, posting listings, Realtor headshots, etc. or worse.

Travis see the "Report a Concern" button on Paul's comment?  You can get point for Reporting spammers comments.  Is Paul a spammer? He is not welcome on my posts.  I cringe when I see him comment the same 10 comments on 10 posts. Jeffrey probably is OK with Paul's comment here.  Some members welcome it.  They just cut and paste back and forth.

ActiveRain does not always removed the cereal commenter's (serial cutting and pasting of comments )  comments if you click that link.  The cereal commenters are not all as comment stalkable as Paul either.

10 points per spam comment reported.  About half a blog post per day if you want those kind of points.   Some people think it is mean.
