Mandatory Code of Ethics & Professionalism review......Worth every minute!

On Wednesday I was going to renew my real estate license on line and then decided to make sure I had what it took to do so, the required continuing education.

I thought I had as I have taken over the last two years my GREEN designation classes.  I also wanted to be sure I had taken the Suburban West Realtors Association mandatory requirements as well so I called the ever helpful Gail Parke, an Administrator at SWRA and the go to person when I have questions on my education needs.

I found I was right about the GREEN designation classes taking care of the 14 hour requirement for continuing education, yet I did need to take the mandatory Ethics course refresher by December 31, 2012.

I looked at the site to see when it was being offered (and for free by SWRA as always) and there was one today at

9 AM Responsible Real Estate in an Electronic World .....so I signed up and took it......why wait if I had the time.

The class was led by Andrew Wetzel who did a great job getting through the material while delivering some great examples for us.

I truly appreciate that while I may be a good Professional in the Industry, I am not above a refresher course to keep me on top of my game.

Hi Dan, I enjoy many of the CE classes as well but it's definitely depended on who's teaching them, I've found my favorites now and I'm sticking with them. I really like your CE class and think that should be a mandatory course everywhere - some agents seems to think that the ethics requirements don't apply online!

Connie,

I too like the education part of our Industry......why shouldn't we want to better ourselves.

Andrea,

I to see many that take the ethics to meet their own needs.  I am by no means an expert....I listen and adjust whenever I need to to ensure I stay on track.  I do not see any drop off in business by staying in compliance.

Dan, we can never have enough education in our industry.  Continuing education and the ethics classes are good for all of us.  I enjoy them too.
