Friday's Foto - Tip-Toeing Through The Daffodils

I was driving home from a new client's home about 10 miles southwest of Hood River on Wednesday and passed this very quaint, country scene so just had to stop to capture it. The weather is finally warming up around here and the daffodils, fruit trees and other flowers are blossoming brilliantly.

Rose comb roosters! My grandfather had these on his farm. As a kid I taught one to attack my grandmother. Now that was funny stuff!

Gretchen:  Ok.  So I saw the title of the post.  Uh huh.  Prolly several kids walking through a field of daffodils.  Ok, I'll look.  So I scrolled down. and saw this totally adorable scene you have captured.  I love those roosters.  How cool !

Did it bring a smile to my face ?  Oh yes.  A very big one.  What a nice surprise.  Thanks so much for stopping and capturing this for us.  Very sweet !

I would have loved to have seen this picture with a 1950s truck in the background in black and white, that would have been perfect.

Hi Gretchen,

Terrific photo of the flowers popping up but I am especially fond of the chickens hanging out too. Great photo and Todd is right, an old truck or even a relic tractor would make this picture an American classic. I also like the broken fence as things do not always have to be perfect. I like the board hanging.

Gretchen, we just got chickens. I forgot how peaceful it is to just set in the sun and watch them scratch in the dirt. My girls love the hens and chicks. I like bacon and eggs.

Gretchen,

Looks like they are trying to decide which rooster gets to pick which flower. :)
