California is usually known for its ominous Earthquakes, but right now most folks are saying: Earthquake, smirthquake! Earthquake, bring it on, just get rid of these wildfires and all this smoke. Air quality in California is at deadly levels and people are reporting respiratory problems, red eyes and choking. If that was not enough the Regional Water Quality Control Board issued an alert on water quality in the rivers and streams due to all the charred earth and soot run-off.

Of course, they might not have to worry about that for long, as the water is almost gone. Fresh water levels are reaching a breaking point, well water is low too from trying to fight the fires. Some are praying for rain to put out the fires, but before you bring god into this, you might wish to consider the problems with burnt land, erosion and landslides; something else, Cal-E-Forn-E-A, as Arnold Swarznegger would say is known for.

The California Wild Fires have caused depletion of critical water supplies, taken out a billions dollars in property, produced the worst air-quality in nearly a decade and set California up for landslides this winter. This is typical, but it is never pretty, it is like a double whammy out here in Malibu, CA.

Some of these fires were obviously arson and caused by humans and even when they are caught and the fires are put out, this is only round one of a 5-round fight, with crisis after crisis to come. California is not out of the woods yet, not by a long shot, and about the only one helped by all this is the TV ratings and psychologists as people try to put their lives back together again

You got your wish. It's wet up in Northern CA. Had an outdoor photo shoot planned for Jan 22nd and woke up to pouring rain. Checked weather.com, the next day with less than a 30% chance of rain was Jan 31st.
