I had
a call this afternoon from a potential new client. Here is how the
conversation went.
Ring ring.
Me : "Hello this is Ellie"
New Client (NC) :
" Hello"
Me : " Hello this is Ellie, who am I speaking to?"
NC : "Hello my
name is Tom"
Me : " Hello Tom, how can I help you today?"
NC : "My house
burned down"
Me : " How terrible, how can I help you?"
NC : " Can you fix
it?"
Me : " I am very sorry Tom, but no, I can't" Can I find you a new
house?"
NC : " OK"
Me : " What kind of house would you like?"
NC : " I want a
house with a flat door (?), a small library, a few bedrooms and a
window box with flowers in it"
Me : " OK, how many bedrooms do you need?"
NC : " 3 would be
good"
Me : " Who is going to be living in the house?"
NC : " Me, my wife
and my child"
Me : " What are their names?"
NC : " My wife is
called Lola and my son is James"
Me : "What other rooms are special to you? Did you need a kitchen? Does
your wife like to cook?"
NC : "Yes, we need
a kitchen with a stove because my wife likes to cook tomato salad
& soup"
Me : "What about a yard?"
NC : "Yes I want a
yard with a trampoline and a playground"
Me : " How soon do you want to buy a house Tom?"
NC : "In about 18
or 19 years"
Me : " OK Tom, thanks for calling, I will take a look for homes that
match your needs and get in contact with you"
NC : " OK, thank
you.......Goodbye"
A few minutes later my 5 year old son walked into the room with a grin
as big as a Cheshire cat. I am sorry Mummy, but you didn't get a call
from a new client, that was me pranking you!

Miss Ellie: I think we have a budding comedian/actor there. Who knows, if he gets good enough at it, you can retire and become his manager. How cool is that ?
Question: Did you have any idea that this was your son calling, or did he fool you ? That is question #1. Next... can you imagine being a Realtor for the next nineteen years. Let's see... nineteen years from now... ummm... that would put you in your mid 40's. Am I close ? <impish grin>
