22 Comments on Youngs Farm, Old Brookville, natures sweetest spot!
Ellen - sounds wonderful! Wish I was going to tbe in the area to visit!
Sara, I wish I had a photo of those pies....they really have fruit in them, unlike others and with the freshest homemade taste!
Rebecca, The Apple Crumb was sooo... good, I had a small piece and went back for more, but it was gone! Everyone had the same idea!
Carol, if so I'd take you there for a treat too.
IF I ever get to visit you.... promise me, you'll take me to this fabulous place! Looks and sounds most excellent, and I have a feeling I could spend hours looking at every little thing Youngs Farm has to offer! I can always go for good pie too ;0) Love this post!
Youngs Farm reminds me of many places we have here in Orange County. I too love the local fresh farm pies and of course the veggies too! It is what living close to farm is all about!
Amy, No visit to the Glen Head/Old Brookville area would be complete without a piece of their fresh pies! Come....it would be a blast!
Janis, Quaint places that include great products and friendly service are always a win, win, with me. This one hidden off a main road is not lost among the locals that know Glen Head/Old Brookville would not be complete without it! I enjoy taking new customers there as a surprise to see what lies within the residential areas, and giving them some sweetness to take home.
I'd be hanging out there Ellen............looks fabulous. My one and only weakness as far as dessert, can't pass up cherry pie!
Roger, Tuesday when they open, I'm going there for a pie and will get a picture of a few to add to this blog. In the summer all the fresh fruits and veggies....I'll need to do another blog!
great localism post that promotes small business which is so important Ellen...strawberry/rhubarb is my favorite...enjoy it.
Good evening Ellen,
I love places like this..what a great way to promote a small local business..you must promise to do another post in the summer so we can drool over the fresh fruits and veggies!!
Ellen- Youngs Farm sounds just like my kind of place. I love "discovering" the local shops and stores of places we visit. When we lived in Leesburg VA we would stop by for fresh pies every week.
Ginny, With my new camera I'm getting out there and prepared to shoot any time. As for the Strawberry/rhubarb, I've never had it, but if they make it I'm gonna try it!
Dorie, If your getting hungry... don't wait till the summer, another blog about food to come tomorrow.
Kathy, Stores with character and charm and friendly service always rate in my book too!
Good morning Ellen.
It has being a long while since I was there.
Josh, it is so charming...next time your in the area don't miss it!
It doesn't get better than homemade jams. You've really gotten into localism in a big way. It's great for me who has a lot to learn about the north shore.
Ellen, well aren't your clients the lucky ones...a free pie from Young's Farm.
Jill, next time you come this way, were walking on that Tappen Beach then heading here for treats!
Nick, I love surprising customers with this tasty local treat. Even brought one home today!
The pictures remind me of my grandmother's farm. Great pictures and I am pleased you posted them.
David, this farm is family owned and the girls who run it say they have many happy memories from growing up on it.
I would like to have a piece of that pie... especially if it is strawberry pie.
Sussie, we've been getting 1 a week to try them all out...we have our favorites too!
