If you are like me, you love your Grandmothers. When mine was alive, I always looked forward to Sunday dinner at her house or the great grandmother's home. I could not wait to bite into one of her home made biscuits or the fried chicken.

Today, I was sent this hilarious joke about a Grandmother and I had to share it with all my ActiveRain friends. I hope that you find it as funny as I did.

The doctor that had been seeing an 80-year-old woman for most of her life  finally retired. At her next checkup, the new doctor told her to bring a  list of all the medicines that had been prescribed for her.
As the young doctor was looking through these, his eyes grew wide as he realized she had a prescription for birth control pills.
"Mrs. Smith, do you realize these are BIRTH CONTROL pills?
"Yes, they help me sleep at night."
"Mrs. Smith, I assure you there is absolutely NOTHING in these that could  possibly help you sleep!"
She reached out and patted the young Doctor's knee.
"Yes, dear, I know that. But every morning, I grind one up and mix it in  the glass of orange juice that my 16 year old granddaughter drinks.......
And believe me, it helps me sleep at night.."

      You gotta LOVE Grandmas!!!

That was good.

My grandmother God rest her soul always said to me "if you can't be good be careful".

She was the greatest.

Makes me wish for my own grandmother - though not for myself!  My own mother would never think to do that for her grandchildren!

That is hilarious!  Sounds like something I might do, hehehehe

My Grandma (Dad's Mom), married a man 9 years her junior.  Not only that, but she was a divorced woman with two young sons during a period of time when women just didn't do that, late 30's I believe.  Grandma was alert and spunky up until her last big stroke, then she lapsed into a coma and never woke up.  But the last time I was at her house visiting (she lived 12 hours away by then), somehow she knew that I had been seeing a younger man and she made a comment to me about how there's just something about the younger men isn't there?  My Grandma might have been old on the outside but inside she was still just a girl.  I can't wait till I get to see her again.

Oh yeah, because my Grandmothers were alive when my first child was born, I couldn't be a Grandma so I chose the name Nana.  Now I hear it everywhere I go, it's very popular.  My sister's kids called my Mom Meemaw and when they had kids, they called her GiGi.  Kids!   Come see me at Blogsmart and leave me some good Grandma stories.  I'd love to share those with others.
