92ee pictureJust where are the realtors? I have been the only realtor to come in today to work. There are 8 agents that work here with 4 of these pretty much full time. I just got finished writing a contract so business continues.

I hope the realtors are not buying into all the doom and gloom because I am not. People are still changing jobs and moving, people are still getting married and buying a house together, people are still dying, babies are still being born and parents moving to bigger house, people are still growing older and downsizing, etc. etc. I will continue to get my share of the business and get the shares of the scared frightened realtors that do not get a grip.

What is going on in your office today? Anyone working?

Mike, I think everyone is in the Holiday mode. Their loss.

Happy New Year to you, sell, sell, sell

Great post. People move due to life changes. Not because the market is up or down.

I am working but I'm not in the office because my son is on vacation.  I'm busy doing mailings, fielding calls from my listings(getting several all of a sudden!), marketing my listings, cleaning out my old files and setting up 2008 files for my other business, writing attorneys and banks, paying bills, and itemizing things that will go to donation so that I can have more to write off, among other things.

I went in to the office today to fax something; out of 75 agents and 4 admin there is only 1 admin and the agent on floor. Nobody's there.

Mike, I have noticed the same atmosphere in my area/office. Business is down a bit but your are so right. Real Estate is still selling. Those of us who keep in the game will be willing and able when the market bounces back up. Best of luck to you.

Mike this is a common occurance at this time of the year. I am one who always uses this time and don't take much of a break. This year it has been working on my website and blog to get better search engine placement. This will pay off tremendously down the road :)

Hi Mike,

Your dedication will pay off next next month, or whenever that deal you are working on closes.  I hope your new year starts off very well.  May God bless you in all that you do.

Mike - As we just absorbed 40 agents from two offices that closed in a consolidation move, lots of folks are working in the office. I'm working at home today.

Mike--I work from home and have been online waiting for the final signatures on a counter offer...The negative views are all in the eyes of the beholders. Here's to a great 2008!

You are right.  People still have to buy and sell homes.  Life goes on.  Maybe the market is slower, but I'm sure there are fewer agents too.  More for all of us agents who remain.

Mike, I work from home, so you know what the means? Every day I'm working pretty much. Even on Christmas I'm socializing on the Rain. Happy New Year.
