Emily I had a huge lilac bush in my backyard, the smell was fantastic, the problem was that the bees thought that it was fantastic too.  I could not get near that part of the yard when it was in bloom, because of the bees ....... LOL

Emily, nothing better than a lilac smell!    My neighbor's bloom before mine, then I have some on either side of my house that bloom at different times.   So, about a month I get to enjoy this heavenly smell!

Hi Emily, How wonderful! I have fond memories of visiting Santa Fe in time for the lilac display!  Such a wonderful accent to the beautiful colors of Santa Fe.  Purple lilacs are in bloom here in SE PA.  I just love the smell of lilacs - a very calming smell.  Thank you for letting us know!

George, our bees are just arriving as our spring is early for their calendar! The good news is you paid attention to them!

Joan, there is nothing like the natural sweet smell of lilacs. Sounds you have yours organized!

Gloria & Doug, calming is the perfect word. They are part of Mother Nature's magic show here! Why not come again!

Emily What a lovely photo; lilacs or blooming here too.  As much as I love the flowers I have to avoid sniffing.

Have a great weak.

Kathy, at times the white lilacs just blend into the clouds. Come back and visit us sometime!

Jennifer, I grew up with lilacs in the east and fortunately do not have any flower allergies. Glad you still can enjoy them!

Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers. I do not remember seeing white ones. We have a lot of violet colors.

Emily,

I'm glad you're enjoying the lilacs. They look and smell great too! Just around the time our were beginning to bloom we got hit with a lot of rain so they didn't bloom on schedule like they should have. I'm so glad you are enjoying them in Santa Fe!
